Yavin was a very well run tournament both last year, especially considering the then-unprecedented number of entrants and the logistics of running it at the UK Games Expo. I had an absolute blast over the two days there. That said, FFG definitely learned from the experience and put it to good use at Yavin this year, with tighter organisation and timing between rounds.

I think the slow take up for the European Championships (if you can call 200 entrants so far with three months still to go "slow") is more to do with it starting on the Friday and running all weekend rather than it being alongside the UK Games Expo. Having to take a day off work (at least), two to three nights hotel accommodation, transport, parking, event AND Expo tickets all adds up.

Blame Brexit.

The European Championships are literally not even IN EUROPE this year.

I'm sure it's a great game. I just refuse to spend the same sort of cash on a card game that I spend on a miniatures game. MtG is proof that people will do just that though. I should have just seen the "Collectible" and spent my money on something else.

Wait 3 years and you'll get your money back with interest, assuming the game is still alive.

You're still part of Europe. Can't physically move the British Isles.

We're still in Europe, Article 50 hasn't even been triggered yet. Personally speaking, I'd rather leave the UK than leave the EU. Some other country can have my taxes and disposable income, they'd probably spend it wiser as well.

I'm an American dammit. I'm exercising my constitutional and god-given right of free speech. DO NOT INFRINGE ME! I never let physics, geography, or actual facts get in the way of my making an opinionated proclamation that USES UNNECESSARY capitalization.

North, central or south? :-)

I remember at the World's After Party this year how, when I asked Alex and Frank on why they keep adding more and more attack dice to the game, Alex dismissed these 6+ attack dice builds as corner cases that are cute but not competitive. Sadly, its clear to me now that he was wrong -- they are both easy to build and very competitive.

If only there'd been someone, well over 18 months ago, who had begun consistently pointing out the increasing slant toward high-powered offense in the game.

I'm 100% convinced it's been intentional from the beginning. Given that it shortens games, I'm 95% convinced the directive came down from Organized Play.

D) None of the above.

I hear Hawaii is a cool place, no?

Does Guam count? I'm not sure how it all works.

Yeah, which is what I said.

Technically central is still part of North

No worries, us Europeans will just build a wall to keep you Brits out when Brexit takes effect. ;)

The migrants in Calais will build the wall!

I honestly wouldn't blame you. I was hoping the government would invoke the Boaty McBoatface precedent ("the people voted, but the people ate stupid")

Is there a reason for any Imperial going to a System Open not to put Carnor Jax in a list? Aside from being generally good, it's one of the ships that really attacks both Parattanni, x7 Defenders, and to a lesser degree Dengaroo.

He is a Squint, so PTL is a must, and that makes him blocked and dead / attack dice (powercreep) fodder.

Squints have had their heyday. :(

I think right now the game is so open you can be sitting across from anything that can smash any part of a list. But even if Carnor is blocked, his ability still working. I think if any squint is worth his points right now Carnor is

Carnor is the best interceptor, but he's still an interceptor. I'd take him over Soontir at this point, but I'd also probably take a Defender or /sf over Carnor.

Anyone know where to get naboo updates??

Any word on lists or top players or a stream or anything other than the number of players? Anxiously awaiting to hear about lists and such.

Naboo is 260 players. Just finished round 5. Top 3 tables has 3 Triple Defender lists, a Parattanni variant with a scout instead of Manaroo and a Kaanan/Biggs.

Looks like the Slingpaint or Carolina Krayt guys are recording the top table. FYI

Do you have info on what the Parattanni has different from the standard list? (Besides the scout instead of Manaroo)
