Being a no show is pretty poor behaviour, I agree. Were they running Hangar Bay events yesterday? At Yavin some players dropped once it became clear they couldn't make day 2 or win any target locks in order to play in the first Hangar Bay.

That's pretty poor if you ask me. Whilst there are some genuine reasons people need to go, I don't understand the mentality of coming to an event to play games, and then letting other people down because you had a bad day.
That aside event was really good :-)
This happened a lot at Yavin, but he Yavin team had side events running an an explicit drop option on the results sheets for the rounds. I'm shocked that a major tournament wouldn't have that - or does it, and people just aren't using it?
Well I was surprised. I have played in many, many wargames tournaments across many systems and I have never seen anything like it before (generally drop outs I've seen were on day 2 from excessive hangovers - even they I have seen some very "green" looking people playing).
But should probably take this to a separate thread to not derail this one.
Maybe once they knew they would be out of the chance to win TL they preferred to watch top tables game?

Aside from having other things to do, I agree. Whether I'm doing poorly or I'm currently in 1st, I'm always up for an extra round of play, even if that means giving someone the chance to unseat me.

Absolutely this. There is no reason not to inform the TO, it's unsporting toward your fellow competitors.
When does Hoth get started today?
Supposedly in 8 minutes, but the way things are going, probably closer to 15 or 20.

Thanks. Is there a stream?
Gold squadron is trying to stream today. Fingers crossed!

I dropped at Hoth Open when i was mathematically eliminated in round 5 because I wanted to get some dinner and long days playing nothing but X-wing are sometimes rough.
What was the attendance for Hoth? It should be big because of Adepticon. I had heard 100+ first day and about 200 the second?

319 between both days.

They had that on Tatooine, you were handed a slip of paper for game results and there was a "I want to drop" checkbox for each player.
Sigh. Some mistakes in that round 8 streamed game that could have affected the outcome had the judge been on the ball.
Phild0 was pretty gracious about the outcome. True gentleman.

To be honest I do not think I've seen a single streamed premier event game that did not have an error of some kind. After a while you start to expect it and just ignore them when they occur.
In an ideal world we'd have a judge certification program and a judge at every streamed or top cut table.

It seems phild0 Decimator got destroyed but a TLT r1 shot (but we aren't entirely sure about that)
Also phild0's opponent took a Target Lock with the Attack Shuttle which doesn't have such an action available. While it didn't matter the rolls (he then rolled 3 naturl hits and the next turn phild0 blanked on defence against 1 hit) it probably had implications with manouevers choices
In the stream they said there was a judge at the table.
