So, despite repeated strikes with the nerf-bat, the JumpMaster is still the most common ship type in the top 8 (followed by the K-wing seemingly). Does this have to go down as the most overpowered/undercosted relese FFG have made? Or am I being harsh? Is it simply that its huge range of upgrade slots make it very flexible and suited to lots of different lists?

Yes/no/yes

It is mostly undercosted because of all the upgrade possibilities. Does any other pwt have access to ept, argomech, crew, illicit and munitions?

If they dominate for a long time I would anticipate them nerfing in one of two ways.

1. Eliminate the ept slot on the scout.

2. Making extra munitions small ship only.

Here's the playlist for all the Naboo System Open Games I got recorded. Rounds 4-9, and all of the cut. 7-9 should finish being uploaded tonight, I'll need to get some sleep and do 4-6 in the morning.

Thanks again to everyone for the help, especially Peter Fu for absolutely carrying the team on the commentary side, and Steve Cameron over at Cascade Games for letting us just set up recording on the fly!

I caught that as well but figured it was a typo due to being 101 points

Gyro and Latts both cost 2 points.

Also, "Gyro and Latts" should be a buddy-space-cop sitcom.

Too bad FFG figured out the issues with crew and salvaged astromech too late. Notice what the Havoc title does? Add the salvaged astromech but lose the crew. Take the default astromech off the JM5K make the P1 title add the droid and remove the crew. Probably avoid all the other crazy nerfs that we have seen.

Just take the mech off and add it to the title is probably fine. A single Jump with the combo is OK, 3 is problematic.

The presence of the EPT slot on the cheapest generic also seems to be a source of abuse (Deadeye, Attanni etc).

You are right. For some reason I thought Gyro was 3 points. I like "Latts and Gyro." better flow. Lol

"Latts and Gyro. A Star Wars Story."

Gyro and Latts sounds better to me. Gyro is a droid cop, btw.

Is Hoth today? Any streams?

Hoth is this weekend I think.

Day 1A is tomorrow.

I doubt there'll be any streams because a lot of these places charge for wifi access. At Naboo, it would have been $300 for the Krayts to get wifi access to stream :-(

I'd say that's a cost FFG absolutely ought to be eating.

But I'd actually say it's a cost they ought to be building in to their requirements for a venue. Streaming is a big part of the popularity of these events I think. It was super disappointing when there wasn't any for SWC last year.

TBH FFG should be paying somebody $1000 to stream it, then making some noise about the stream.

Every $ spent on coverage comes back many times by hyping people to play lists and get involved in major events. Some companies just don't get that, though. They think it's enough that the event exists and that they don't need to actually tell anyone that it exists or what happened or how much fun it was or why they should buy more product.

Yup. It's a great shame that the people doing it have to do it for free or for swag - but unfortunately, it's pretty much necessary for these events to run on volunteer contributions, because if they had to pay everyone who worked at them the going rate for their time they'd have to charge an awful lot more for tickets...

Personally, I'd pay it.

Very interesting to see that a post-nerf Parattanni still went 8-2, and made the #9 spot.

There were also Cormac Higgins playing Parattanni on top tables - he finished 7:3 loosing last game flying full Asajj out if table by mistake. Properly played Parattanni is still viable.

he even beat the original creator of the list in round 9 :D

I disagree, at least in part. I think if you had a stock Contracted Scout with zero upgrade options, with that dial, and that stat line, it would occasionally show up in competitive events as a the best blocker in the game. Add in any single upgrade option that it has currently, and you open up more great builds.

I don't think any cost is assigned to a ship for the upgrades it COULD equip. If the upgrade is costed appropriately then adding cost to the ship as well makes no sense.

Slots for upgrades have 0 cost.

Hoth Day 1A is today (Thurs, March 23rd). I have a group of friends playing in the event. 105 players for today, day 1.

We actually hit the amount to pay for it easily because X-Wing players are stupidly generous - there were just other complications at the venue that prevented us from going live sadly

We all know that's not true in practice, though, because so many options are undercosted for what they bring, so having the slot is worth something on a ship.

Yeah, that's BS.

So if we had a Contracted with no upgrade slots what would it cost? Or a K-Wing with no slots? Or if an Academy Pilot had two Torpedo slots and a Bomb slot why should it cost more to put onto the table naked?

It's nonsense. You can't price slots because you can't know if they're bringing any value or not - you price the ship and you price the upgrade, it's the only sensible way of doing it.
