CC campaign fleet

By DrakonLord, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Ok so at my local games shop we have starting a CC campaign and we have already chosen/deployed our 400 point starting fleet.

So between stuff i had, stuff i could borrow and everything else, my starting list was:

The Avis (397/400)
=================
Assault Frigate Mk.II A (81 + 6)
+ Engineering Captain (6)
CR90 Corvette A (44 + 38)
+ Commander Sato (32)
+ Dodonna's Pride (6)
MC30c Scout Frigate (69 + 4)
+ Ordnance Experts (4)
Modified Pelta-class Assault Ship (56 + 5)
+ Entrapment Formation! (5)
4 x X-wing Squadron (13)
2 x A-wing Squadron (11)
2 x Y-wing Squadron (10)
Most Wanted
Intel Sweep
Fighter Ambush

And after the first battle 3 Xwings and a Ywing are now scarred- however i took down a VSD in return ^_^ and won the battle (hyperlane raid at raiders point i believe it was)

So my plan for the full finished list is to have:

The Avis (full) (498/500)
========================
Assault Frigate Mk.II A (81 + 13)
+ Weapons Liaison (3)
+ Enhanced Armament (10)
CR90 Corvette A (44 + 38)
+ Commander Sato (32)
+ Dodonna's Pride (6)
MC30c Scout Frigate (69 + 10)
+ Defense Liaison (3)
+ Ordnance Experts (4)
+ Flechette Torpedoes (3)
Modified Pelta-class Assault Ship (56 + 12)
+ Entrapment Formation! (5)
+ Assault Concussion Missiles (7)
Nebulon-B Support Refit (51 + 3)
+ Leia Organa (3)
B-wing Squadron (14)
5 x X-wing Squadron (13)
2 x A-wing Squadron (11)
2 x Y-wing Squadron (10)

(Same objectives obviously)

Any tips for the general playing of the CC campaign or upgrades i should aim to get would be appreciated :)

(Im thinking of having the pelta without ACM and get rid of the B-wing and instead put gunnery teams on the AFMk2 and a couple of other upgrades if all goes well)

Sato to shoot blue die at long range with Dodonna's Pride? Is that viable, when you could just do a TRC + some black die?

The Cr90's purpose in this fleet for me is to be an 'all rounder' type ship, the way I play it depends entirely on what my opponents fleet is lol.

so for the first round I versed my usual opponent who had a interdictor, a victory and a Arquitens LC along with a few squadrons. What I did was I kept the cr90 back a fair ways and only took one shot in the entire game. Next battle I will be moving sato to the pelta ( which I only just got before the CC campaign started ^_^) so the CR90 can do something more Next match.

Also what does TRC stand for? Not thinking right atm.

if any of this doesn't make sense, don't worry I'm just absolutely exhausted and will edit it sometime tomorrow, good night :)

Put sato on a transport have it move away at speed two and spamm squadron commands, the. Get to vcx so you can use those commands from the transport

Yeah i was thinking about this, but i dont know if any of my team has a free GR75 as i dont have one. Will take note to get a squadron with relay :) such as a VCX

You won a Hyperlane Raid? Killed a VSD, you say? Only lost 4 squads?

How?

What resources did you get?

Oh, and if you're running Sato you may as well put Salvation on the Neb - I don't like it my list, I wish I'd put another MC-30 in but too late now!

And I can second the usefulness of the VCX too :)

Ok thanks for the advice :D

How did i win a hyperlane raid? Well both myself and the guy i was versing are both relatively new and play each other a lot, so he set up the obstacles so that he could have his ships like a convoy going up the right hand side. I had my ships going sort of like a congo line and focused the victory down with side arcs galore

He got more resources (60 i think), i only got 40, will double check tonight when i look at the campaign sheet haha, but points wise well a VSD is worth quite a bit more than a couple of squadrons (49 points in squads VS 85)

If my opponent had just charged straght across the map, i wouldnt of been able to get the VSD, it was because of his positioning that allowed me to flank him without ever getting into his front arcs and out of effective attack range of the interdictor ( basically it was my entire fleet vs the victory thanks to good positioning of ahips and squadrons)

But as i said both me and him are quite new so cut us a little slack haha, we are learning ;)

P.s. also saying i 'won' could have been rephrased better, such as 'he lost more points in fleet'

So second round of CC happened yesterday, my fleet above with a couple of extra upgrades verses a imperial fleet of a interdictor, GSD and a ISD with almost full upgrades and 5 squads (2 ties, morna kee and 2 normal devs)

We played the base objective armed station, and i was defending

So the fleet i was fielding

The Avis (CC) (452/500)
======================
Assault Frigate Mk.II A (81 + 30)
+ Engineering Captain (6)
+ Gunnery Team (7)
+ Electronic Countermeasures (7)
+ Enhanced Armament (10)
CR90 Corvette A (44 + 38)
+ Commander Sato (32)
+ Dodonna's Pride (6)
MC30c Scout Frigate (69 + 7)
+ Ordnance Experts (4)
+ Flechette Torpedoes (3)
Modified Pelta-class Assault Ship (56 + 5)
+ Entrapment Formation! (5)
YT-2400 (16)
4 x X-wing Squadron (13)
HWK-290 (12)
2 x A-wing Squadron (11)
2 x Y-wing Squadron (10)
Most Wanted
Intel Sweep
Fighter Ambush

So what was the outcome?

....Rebel Victory :D

I scarred everything apart from the interdictor which hyperspaced out and one normal dev which survived on 3 health

Going into this battle i seriously thought i was screwed, however a miscalculation on my opponents part drove his ISD into a fighterball wich damaged it enough that a double arc shot from the pelta (who was going to run away but was in the perfect position) and a side shot at close range from a mc30c took it out.

Round one: positioning fleet, my opponents GSD takes a shot at the station and reduces it by 3 health

Round two: the cr90 shoots the GSD for all side shields, the gsd takes another 3 health from the station and does a bad roll against the cr90

The ISD, pelta, mc30c are just out of range of each other. The isd does anti squadron against all the fighters in front of it (3 X, 2Y) but not much happens

The interdictor and AF are on the other side of the map, no action there either

My A wings and yt2400 engage the 2 ties and morna kee, my bomber/fighter ball is where my opponents ISD will roughly be next round and 2 Xwings are engaged with the 2 devs, 2 Xwings going to reinforce the A wings take a shot at the isd front arc and it goes down to 1

Round 3:through a focus on of fire, the GSD and ISD take out the station, and the MC30C is half destroyed (2hull), the cr90 and AF take out the GSD (now a veteran cr90) and some shields are down on the ISD, however the ISD is now within black range of my mc30c, the pelta and inside a BALL of squadrons.

The mc30c does a squadron command token, activating a Y that takes out the last point of shielding on the ISD front arc, then double arcs the ISD nearly killing it (both reds roll doubles and blacks roll a accuracy, hit crit, hit crit in one roll, than 4 damage from the other arc) (for a total damage of 14 or so before redirects take away the side shields) before getting away from the front arc, then the pelta activates, squadron token another Y that does a hit+crit and does another double arc that kills the ISD!

I got the luckiest rolls ever against that ISD and focusing on the frontal shielding allowed me to destroy it

Also please keep in mind it was quite late and we didnt keep detailed records and take pictures (i should of, will do next week) so if the damage seems a bit off sorry but i might of forgottwn the exact rolls (im only human!) Still this is a big win for me since i am still getting experience playing others and for the rebel team

My opponent was genuinely shellshocked that i won and so was i and it was great fun playing against him. ^_^
