Anybody know when Episode 63 will be out? Major Juggler mentioned a while back that he talks about Parattani on there, and I've been wanting to hear his opinions about that build.

Yeah, I saw that a while back. I was more interested in a potential group discussion on the podcast.

I'll have to pester Ed, I was surprised it hasn't dropped yet as well. We already recorded 64 too.

I made the forum post after Episode 63 recorded, so much of the podcast discussion on Parattanni (which was mostly just myself solo talking for a bit, since I had been playing it solid for a couple months) is similar to what I already posted. Except for the part about flying against triple K-wing bombers...

In episode 64 I talked a little bit of rough numbers on the ships' cost efficiency with mindlink. It's very good.

I've been disappointed at how far behind nova squadron has been for months now.

It's not as fun to hear a 2 hour news section on news that's already been updated/ expanded by the time the episode is out.

I would like to apologize on behalf of NOVA Sqn Radio for the backlog of episodes.

I thought I could shed some light as to the reasons, just to keep you guys in the loop as obviously the only reason we are still doing this after 60+ episodes is because you guys keep listening!

Without going in to too many details Ed had some big upheavals in his life towards the end of 2016, I noticed the slide in releases and offered to help Ed out with any editing and promptly got 3 episodes dumped in my lap.

The editing needed on these episodes was well above the normal level of work that usually needed doing due to a few software and hardware issues, unlike some podcasts we don't have a Patreon for NOVA Sqn Radio, so any changes are paid for from our own pockets and so I sucked it up and began work on the Editing.

It is at this point that I would like to also apologize for the background noise on what I think was Ep 61 Ed and Chads levels were extremely low and whilst I thought i had scrubbed all of the background conversations I obviously missed some. That's all on me and I am working even harder to make sure the quality is back where it should be, which I honestly believe was one of the best available with Ed at the helm.

As an insight on just how bad it is at the moment I have included a screenshot of the 25 minute segment I am currently working on (well what I should be working on instead of responding to this...)
The top section is Ed and Chad's audio, you can see how much lower it is, you can also see each random spike that I need to smooth out. To make sure that I am getting it as clean as possible I am going through each channel individually, so I listen to just Ed and Chad and fix their levels and scrub the random noise. Then I fix the rest of the levels from the Skype call, try to remove any Skype bings, and catch any random noise on this channel as well.
Then I sync it all back up and actually edit the show for any bits that need to be cut out (admittedly normally me swearing...) All in it will take me almost 2 hours to get this 25 minute segment perfect and uploded for Ed to then piece together in to the episode that you guys get to enjoy.

I do all of this whilst still trying to make content for my YouTube channel, run two other podcasts and Work so that I can at least contribute something to the household budget (I am a lucky man...). This is obviously the choice I made to try to do this as a "Job" but as much as I want to keep NOVA as a high priority I have lots of irons in fires at them minute.

Episode 63 is done and I am over half way through 64, then we are up to date and Ed and Myself are going to be "Working" on Sunday to make sure we don't have these issues anymore. Rest assured, NOVA will be back and stronger than ever, we have not given up on X-Wing and we have lots of plans for how we want to move the show forwards and evolve now that there is so much more content for you all to enjoy!

Yes I miss the days when I could hope on the Skype call 2 minutes before we were supposed to start on the Thursday and the show would be live on the Tuesday but hopefully this give you an insight on some of the issues that have affected Ed and Myself and reassures you that we are both working hard to give you the show you deserve.

Just as an Update,

Ep 63 and Ep 64 are all done now, Ed should be sending me Ep 65 soon (that was the Outrider cup show) and that will be done for next week so I would expect a glut of episodes and then we are up to date again and we should be back to an episode every two weeks.

I don't know, I have apparently made 200 videos in the 8 months I have been doing DiceHate on YouTube, that plus all the content for Monday Night Gaming on the Sentry Box Events channel and I must have the flight deck covered, and I am not even the only person doing it!

So Ep 63 and Ep 64 are live now.

65 is done and should be up later on this week which puts us back up to date!

I disagree with Nova's suggestion that Manaroo should hang back in Parattanni. It's not Dengaroo.

If they kill Manaroo first, you piece traded for something better (or you got out-played).

Maybe it's because of the latency in the podcast (being recorded so long ago) or because I am in euro-land, but right now the local and visiting Parattanni players use Manaroo very aggressively.

It was not the suggestion of of everyone on NOVA to hold Manaroo back.

I have spoken a few times about making sure you are getting value out of Manaroo by spending here health appropriately and taking her shots, using her to occupy table space and control movement.
You are correct that she should be played completely differently in Parattanni to Dengaroo.

I think Manaroo is undisputably the best engine for a Mind Link list but you have to weigh the match, is an extra focus token a turn on Fenn/Ventress worth sacrificing any other use of Manaroo to keep that engine intact. Most of the time I can see better uses, but if someone is willing to commit to chasing her, I am all for running her away and taking the positional advantage my opponent has just handed me.
