The 5-of C-Roc cannon contemplation.

By tsuruki, in X-Wing

Just highlighting a little thing I just saw:

The Scavenger crane upgrade card.

Image result for x wing scavenger crane

Torpedoes, Missiles and Bomb, and.... Cannons and Turrets?

So all were missing are cannons and turrets that have discard mechanics. Is this going to be a thing in the C-Roc expansion?

This also covers cards that you discard due to other game effects such as Boba Fett. But yeah, we might see disposable turrets and cannons; no reason that would be impossible.

Yeah, I know a guy who celebrated this specifically because of Boba xD

Boba Fet and Classic damage deck. As if Munitions failure was a big thing. Oh no, you killed the HLC and now Dash no longer has a doughnut hole. Oh look Corran and I just killed a ship in that hole and it's back now haha thank you smuggling compartment.

I expect the Cannon with five copies in he C-ROC will either cost four points (Spacer at 14 + 2 for Heavy Scyk + 4 = 20) or will be less than that but Scyk only. FFG was designing this before knowing the effects of the TIE/d title and i don't think they would risk making the defenders too good.

I would be be surprised if it has a discard mechanic like crack shot, but it could plausibly have a failure like the illicit cloaking device.

There are also weapon disabled tokens in the C-ROC, we don't know if that's an effect from some other upgrade or possibly related to the cannon.

I really want a tractor beam turret (let's call it a Gyroscopic Tractor Array) or a heavy tractor beam that can move Large ships.

With only two weapons disabled tokens showing, I'd guess they're not related to the cannon.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe SLAM is currently the only mechanic that specifically assigns a weapons disabled token.

Not Before Imps get their ship with a Turret Upgrade Slot!

SLAM is, but like Ordinance tokens from EM they do not technically have to - since they aren't SLAM tokens or anything.

They certainly could have some other use, and I can imagine some possibilities -- some kind of EMP device for the C-ROC, an epic ion cannon that knocks out small ship weapons temporarily, or part of a mission (going along with those hyperspace jump tokens).

Jabba the Hutt

8 points, 2 Crew Slots

Action: Assign a Weapons Disabled token to a ship at Range 1-3.

That'd be dumb.

I have no idea if its been said, but I think that Jabba will give a sort of "extra munitions" token to all illicits, and the cannon if it hits, will assign a weapons disabled token to the defender instead of damage, or along with 1 damage.

Guri + Virago + SD + Scavanger Crange. I wonder.....

Scavenger Crane doesn't work on Modifications.

Anything else that assigned Ordnance Tokens would have to also define what they do since there is no inherent effect to the token.

True, though the definition is pretty short to put in (or it could even have a different effect - but probably not unless they want it to combo with EM).

Weapon Disabled are on a reference card though. That card is the same as SLAM, mind, but since Burnout SLAM is already Large Only and Light Syck's can't equip modifications (and they seem to be a bit of a focus for the additions) I still don't think we're getting a new SLAM thing. Unless the C-ROC can SLAM. But that'd be weird.

With scavanger crane you just might be able to justify Adv Proton Torps, at least on Guri, and maybe Fett as well. They're gonna be in range one anyway

The Jabba speculation has been said a lot here. I maintain those illicit tokens we saw are probably for the cinematic mission play and not for epic/standard.

No idea on the cannons. If anything I would guess it disables itself (eg a two turns one shot sort of arrangement)

The problem with the weapons disabled tokens being something to do with the cannons is that they always include enough tokens to use, and there are more copies of the card than number of tokens.

Thats a good point. Didn't realize that there were only 2 tokens. Maybe jabba can buy off enemy ships or something and give them disabled tokens?

It's a cannon that you can fire at your own ships to repair them. Not sure how competitive it will be, but a fun gimmicky mechanic.

A rail gun that launches resupply of munitions or little guys/droids to repair your ship

I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of upgrade that gives a Gunner effect or allows you to add an attack die in exchange for a weapons disabled token. Either of those should be solid upgrades for jousty ships.
