Guys, I would definitely get behind the TIE Avenger.

It's sleek, damned compact for its size and HURTS!

(I actually find it more aesthetically pleasing than the venerable TIE Defender - which looks a bit too busy at the wingtips in my opinion.)

After X-Wing got the gunboat we NEED the Avenger, so we can have a full squadron pack. Never made sense that we got the Protoype TIE-Advanced x1 and not the mass-produced TIE-Avenger.

Classic Marvel SW showed that Vader wasn't the only one with a TIE Advanced x1 - Zertik Strom had some too.

I follow the Tie Fighter rather than X-wing Alliance 'stats' so the Defender's still better than the Avenger when it comes to... well, top speed, acceleration, weapons, and shields. So, 'it's still worse than the defender' is fine with me. Theory stats: beefier interceptor sounds fine.

IIRC the Avenger had the better turn-rate (same as the interceptor) compared to the defender and was inferior in anything else, but turn-rate was king and quad-lasers are enough to vaporize most enemy fighters in one or two shots anyway, so personally I prefered flying the Avenger of the Defender. And so did Maarek Stele ;-)

Interesting that all 3 of them have wildly varing abilities, but all end up at 14 points.

GK's makes X-Wings look horrible .

I'm fairly partial to Wes's actually - he tweaked it after wave 5 to bring snipe into the imperial repertoire.

Eventually I'll have to bring Scramble to the yards.

I just don't know what Irregular Squadron chassis to bring it on.

If it was priced vs. the common X-wing I'd probably say 15 pts, 16 seems excessive.
