Station Assault question

By itzSteve, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

While watching the replay of JRockNZ and Roquax World Cup match, I noticed in Turn 5 that Roquax shot at a station he was overlapping. I can't remember where I read it in one of the other threads, but can you shoot at a station you are overlapping?

I think it is in the CC book

Yup. Pg 3 of the CC book. A ship or squadron that is overlapping a station cannot declare an attack against that station.

Good spot! Just about to play Show of Force this evening, so perfect timing to pick up on this one!

We came across the opposite, a station shooting at a ship that is overlapping the firing station. We concluded the station could target any overlapping arc on the ship. The rule says something like ... you fire at the closest arc to the obstacle. Many arcs were essentially range 0.0 so we let the station attacker pick from them.
