Yup. If a player is causing problems at the game table, the best thing to do (after talking to them and warning them) is just give them the boot.

Also, don't accept repeat occurrences. Mental disorders, social anxiety, or other issues that can give players a difficult time socializing with other people are not something you need to take upon yourself to "fix." You certainly shouldn't devote everyone else's gaming time to trying to deal with these issues. It sounds harsh, I know, but there are better times and venues to do this sort of thing. No one wants to spend 3/4 of the time they get for gaming each week explaining to Larry that yes, it IS inappropriate to make unwanted advances toward other PCs and that he needs to stop doing it. Give a warning, then give the boot.

There's a fine line between being reasonably accepting and tolerant - we gamers are a varied lot after all! But yeah, unless the entire table has signed on for a therapy session, then they've all signed on to have fun and things that make it not fun should go.

I only ever played once - we spend most of the evening building characters, started out at the "So you all meet at a bar" Bar - and promptly got into a gunfight with each other, blowing away two characters, mortally wounding another and killing the game stone dead.

This game was my main jam for years, and it's the source of many of my GMing mistakes. In fact it was my weekly drop-in games at the local FLGS that introduced me to the type of player OP describes and how not to deal with it.

Oh, the stories I could tell about those sessions....

If it makes you feel better, I have a PC that demanded a sex bot as well. Granted, its a medical droid that provides "Sexual Healing", a plot device which we all agreed would be humorous and hasn't even come up yet, but still. Who would have guessed sex bots to be so prolific, especially so far away from the Core Worlds !

I've got the same kind of player. He changed his race to cyborg mid game and kept claiming that his character did things better because of it. Also wants to be genji from overwatch.

If it ain't in the films... it's not appropriate for the rpg. (OK.. we have a quick time out for sexist and/or speciesist jokes)

Late to the party, but I just have to say any player trying to have in game relationships with another players significant other is one of those thing that needs to be mutual and discussed in advance. That could easily lead to the meltdown of a gaming group and real life consequences. My players would have to really convince me it would be cool at the table.

How does one change his race to cyborg? Sure, cybernetics are cool and give huge buffs and can make a character really strong in areas, but those come with some gigantic downsides (ion weapons)

The key thing to remember and state in this case is that the player is not the character. Bad things should happen to characters on a frequent basis. Though it sounds like a case of ego issues.


I have nothing to say on the main topic issue. Everything else has already been said, there is absolutely no excuse for a character forcing a cancerous character trait on other players frequently. Do let us know how you got on with that.

Interesting, seeing how Cyborg isn't a species. He would run faster, if he bought the sweet +1 Brawn cyberlegs, but they're a pretty penny, if I recall. I'd sit him down with the equipment section on cybertech, and tell him he can be a basic cyborg with simple, crummy-looking replacements, or he can shell out the dough to find a back-alley cyberdoc.

That is when you simply say "A giant rock falls from space and lands on your dumb Mary-Sue character and kills him instantly. Please leave my table and go home and never come back while the rest of us have fun playing this game"

Seriously though, don't put up with that kind of stuff it it is making the game less fun for you and your other players. Have a word with the player and tell him that it's not that kind of game and if he isn't into playing the kind of game that you are running then he can find a different game.

It is always good to talk to players about this stuff especially when someone's play style is vastly different from what you want to do with your game. Best thing to say is that you don't like that kind of stuff; that it bores you and annoys you. That it makes you feel less like writing and running the game and that will ruin it for everyone.

On bad player can ruin a game for everyone.

Just work with him to respec his character if he wants to play something different. Unless he's doing other disruptive crap. If he's generally disruptive, might be best to ask him to shape up or figure out why he's acting out, come to an accord about it. And if the bad behavior continues, just give him the boot.

But if one of my players did that, wrote a different "species" and tried to argue about it, I would first assume that they're bored with their character and they want another shot at making one. I wouldn't begrudge a player that chance. Take the Gank species, give him some extra XP and credits appropriate for your group's level, and let him make his katana-wielding cyborg.

Sometimes, a little bit of reality is a good cure for when the players went to over board.

I'd got three male players with a lot of ...sexual-stress, espacially one, all his characters are always ultra atractive females, with any kind of "charming-boosts" a system offers...

So Boobie-gags are the norm, and even the guys that are in charge of "R-rating" would get a heartattack while reading the session protocols.

But well this time I've found some miraculose cure: Two female Jedi and a male Explorer

After a long adventure on Dathomir the "good" witches are having a feast, and since they were such a sexual open minded race, they had a lot of stimulating drugs in the smoke, the food and drinks.

All three player got laid down, and were happily tring to get even more participants in theire respective beds... everythings well and good... except for the Upgraded resilence checks...

some days later the male had some very itchy problems and one of the females had a lot of throwing up during the next few sessions... until a med droid mentioned that she should refrain from blaster shootout for the sake of the baby.

It is funny how situational behavior can chance, due to circumstances... Today they are alot more caution with the sex-gag since they know it could have grave consequences...

And now I shall use the option to unfollow this thread.

I might be a little late to chime in on this but its sounds this is not the kind of guy that a "Talking To" will fix. It seems like he has some kind of deep-seated issue he's acting out through the game and unfortunately its affecting all of the other players and the game itself. Demanding NPC sex-dolls and trying to force the same on PCs seems like a sign of an abusive personality...but I'm no shrink.

I've not had that particular problem in any game I've ever played or run, mostly cause I've gotten good at recognizing creeps when I see them. But if it's making everyone else uncomfortable he has to go. As I said in another post on a similar topic; that is a toxic player who is going to bring you nothing but grief. You shouldn't have to sacrifice a well-written campaign you've put a lot of thought into for just one player.
