RIP Richard Hatch

By Jadotch, in X-Wing

I know this is off topic, but as a Sci-Fi fan, I enjoyed Richard Hatches work.

He is the main guy which kept Battlestar Galactica alive until its reboot. He was always great with the fans and loved the franchise. I enjoyed watching the original series watching reruns as a kid.

I hope they filmed his Axanar scenes ...

He was awesome as Captain Apollo and Tom Zarek in BSG. Along with Star Wars and Star Trek, BSG was a huge influence on my young impressionable mind. Hatch will be missed.

And yes, "So say we all."

I never watched the original BSG, and have no desire to. But the reboot is possibly my favorite TV show of all time.

Hatch was great as Tom Zarek on the show.

RIP. Born in 1972, BSG is part of my childhood. Original BSG was a hard hitter in our TVs...

He played Zarek so well i always wanted to punch the guy...

So say we all.

I know there'll be a tirade of abuse coming my way for this .. but please consider using the Off-Topic forum.

If you know it's Off Topic then don't post it?

Perhaps not 100% off topic. I see BSG as SW's little brother. Late 70s. The vast vacuum of space, cool ship, pew pew and charismatic characters. If you are 8 years old both franchises are quite mixed.

As said before, rest in peace. Nothing else matters

It was originally created as a response to the success of Star Wars. They wanted a "Star Wars for television" and so the whole look of the show is very SW-ey.

It is indeed 100% off topic. They're vaguely related in theme. Other than that, FFG produces their own Battlestar Galactica game with its own sub-forum here. In that context it's a fine post, but it had literally no business on the main X-wing page. Posts like these merely clog up discussion space intended for X-wing, hence why the Off-topic section exists.

Go jump out the airlock.

The frak I will!

I met him at SD ComicCon 3 years back, he was a super nice guy. Also met Olmos at the same event, another of my heroes.

RIP. So say we all.

RIP Captain Apollo "So say we all."

Rest in Peace.
