[CCL] Champions of the Empire (TIE Interceptor + TIE Bomber ace pack)

This is my TIE Interceptor + TIE Bomber "ace" expansion. Feedback and suggestions are most welcome!

PILOTS:

TIE Interceptor pilots: (miniature with alternative blue paint scheme and the two white stripes in the lower panels of the Avenger Squadron)

  • "Easy": PS7, elite (cost 25) Commander of the Avenger Squadron (composed by shielded TIE Interceptors and TIE Avengers).
  • General Weir: PS6, elite (cost 24) Commander of the Sunspot Squadron (composed of TIE Fighters and TIE Interceptors with torpedoes).
  • Apwar Trigit: PS5, elite (cost 23) Captain ("Admiral") of the ISD Implacable. Piloted a shielded TIE Interceptor.
  • Sunspot Squadron: PS2 (cost 19)
  • the unique pilots above are all "big bads" (from video games, books or comics) and all piloted modified Interceptors.

x_wing_miniatures__tie_interceptor_pilot

TIE Bomber pilots: (miniature in light grey, representing the units of the Scimitar Assault Wing)

  • Lumiya: PS8 + elite (cost 25) "The Dark Lady of Sith". Ability: something like the reverse of Luke's.
  • Kohl Seerdon: PS5 + elite (cost 20) Main villain in the 1998 video game Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. Ability: ?
  • "Brick": PS4 (cost 18) Maarek Stele's collegue - not necessarily a TIE Bomber pilot, but I like the nickname (and didn't found another TIE Bomber pilot).
  • "White Death" Pilot: PS3 + elite (cost 17) "White Death" is the nickname of the Scimitar Assault Wing (not to confuse with the Scimitar Squadron), commanded by Tomax Bren, with TIE Bombers painted in light grey.

UPGRADES:

  • TIE/in: TIE Interceptor only. Title. Something to clear stress. I like very much the Rakaydos' 181st Fighter Group title, so the effect will be inspired by that (and still help Soontir).
  • TIE/x3: TIE Interceptor only. Title. This one represents the TIE Interceptor costly prototype that was later simplified for mass production and speed. It also fits with the Interceptors flown by the Sunspot and the Avenger Squadrons.
  • Chin Cannons: TIE Interceptor only. Modification. In the ROTJ, TIE Interceptors shoot also with their "chin" cannons. This makes those ships even more dangerous, but at cost of the repositioning.
  • No Shields all Guts: the green dice failed you? You have one more chance.

  • Adv. Targeting Systems: Imperial only. Modification. The Scimitar Squadron had these, which made them deadly bombers. I found this effect easier than adding somehow 1 damage to bombs. BTW, this also helps two other Imperial ships: the TIE Punisher and (somewhat) the Firespray. EDIT: and Decimator!
  • TIE/sa: TIE Bomber only. Title. The TIE Bomber was known for its great accuracy in bombing and this title is meant to reflect that. The namesake of the ship is Bomber, after all. I might include something to allow the ship to bring more bombs.
  • Mag Pulse Torpedoes: a weapon from the old sims (but was mentioned in TFA). Reference card here.
  • Adv. Concussion Missiles: a weapon from the old PC sims.

The title above is intended to give an option to high PS Interceptor pilots, like Soontir and Turr.

For the record, my 181st title is intended to help low and mid PS pilots, but ships that have the PS to use PTL effectively to arcdodge, like Fel, Carnor, and VI Tur, are better off with Royal Guard

Adv. Targeting Systems could help the Decimator as well.

Updated the OP with TIE Interceptor pilots. Soon: the TIE Bomber pilots.

What does Sunspot squadron actually give you?More expensive than Alpha, still vulnerable to Predator, and cant block as well as an alpha.

Mag Pulse torpedoes are ok but this jamming beam(I know you don't have it here but it's on linked page) is too op. This and tie/d and no low agi ships in meta. Btw nice tematic ideas for 2 classic imperial ships:)

Honestly, I don't think it's that powerful - especially when you can bring Ion Canon or Flechette Canon instead (which do ACTUAL damage + effect).

It would take Rey Deci Poe Norra and other low agi ships to 0 or 1 dice attacks every turn. It is that powerfull

EDIT: isn't using Ion Cannon (and killing the enemy by pushing it out of the map) a much better tactic than removing some weapon dice?

OK, pilots and upgrades done (I might include so other 2 generic upgrades) and now I will do the box image.

Maybe change the restriction of the TIE/sa title to "TIE Bomber & Punisher Only", Punisher are also good at bombing things (especially Deathrain ;) )

Punisher? Let the poor thing die already.

Just kidding, the Punisher will get help with the Adv. Targeting Systems and probably with the other 2 generic upgrades I will include soon. Anyway, I want the Bomber to be the Imperial best bomber. It is called, after all, TIE Bomber. (now I want to make a meme of a Bomber with hat, goaty and dark shades saying: "Say my name!")
