So I'm reading my Wardancer card and under the Typical trappings it says that wardancers don't wear armor. However, after reading the FAQ it denotes that Typical Trappings are by no means rules and are simple guidelines with which to enhance your character thematically. Also after "They wear no armor" it says that some wear leather strapping. Is that then leather armor or not. To get to the point even though it sounds silly could a wardancer wear and use plate mail according to the rules?
Wardancers and Armor
I don't think the rules prohibit it, but in my game it would be as bad an idea as a caster wearing plate. I'd penalize the hell out of all those dance rolls for the full plate.

I agree I don't remember any prohibition of the war dancer armor. That said, if the wardancer is using a very "wardancerish" talent and wearing heavy plate, I will fully add misfortune dice to the check (as my GM perogitive) to represent the diffcult of doing elven acrobatics in full plate.

In addition to any of his kin folk making fun of him and claiming he has no honor for wardancing.
A player deciding to enclose his Wood elf wardancer character in metal armor would be, thematically, about the same as a Dwarf who decided to shave off his beard and learn to be a wizard. It just... doesn't happen in the setting.
Sure, you can DO it if you want to...
On the other hand, they ought to get access to protective tattooes - and a killer hairstylist. *G*
On a similar point, what weapons are suitable for Wardancers?

Going from the latest models, only one-handed swords. Going from older models, also spears.
Hmm...are there any official models that are armed with just one spear, or are the all dual wielders?
For fluff I recommend guardians of the forest, which is a book about a brentonnian knight stuck in athel loren. There's crazy wardancers in it.

Looking at my wife's old models, I see one armed with just one spear - he's also got metal armor on his right arm and studded leather pants.
