Pure speculation time:
What do you guys think the odds are that we'll eventually see a stand-alone Rogue Squadron movie?
Would you want to see it?
How closely should it follow the Legends Rogue Squadron storyline?

Low odds due to lack of interest as much as it pains me to say it. If it does happen I would expect Wes, Wedge, and Hobbie for sure (all Cannon). Luke should show up, since the Aftermath novels don't have Rogue Squadron.
Rogue Squadron the Animated Series would be awesome.
I will take any and all Star Wars but I would think this is probably pretty low down on Disney's list to translate to a movie. If anything, they are more likely to 'base' it on concepts and ideas rather than some kind of linear translation - by which I mean by that is that there was a lot of "OMGKYLORENISJACEN" when TFA came out and people were insisting that the ideas had been plucked immediately from the EU rather than accepting that some things - like Han and Leia having kids, or there being some awesome adventures to tell of Rebellion Aces - are likely to bubble up in a format that is similar but not the same.
Edited by BojanglezI'm definitely with BlodVargarna on this. A series would allow for a lot of time for each member, plus I think it would be fun to see a series that focused more on space battles than ground ones.

And Rogue Squadron got up to shenanigans on the ground so it would be all space battles all the time.
Plus it would be another chance for the long awaited t-65 fix!!!
The only canon rogue squadron now is the T-65 snowspeeders on Hoth. I could see them making a series or a standalone movie but it probably won't be "Rogue Squadron" to avoid confusion with Rogue One. For live action they will have to focus on pilots besides the ones that appeared in the OT unless they get a younger actor to reprise the role.
Which brings us to the real question: Who would be your vote to play Wedge in a live action standalone movie about rebel pilots?

Actually, having Rogue Squadron taking the name in honor of Rogue One makes sense and gives the opportunity to show the impact that mission had on the rest of the alliance.
As for a young Wedge, hmm.... while I'm sure there is a good choice we don't know about yet, I guess off the top of my head, maybe Tom Felton?
Wedge Antillies assembles "Phantom Squadron" in Aftermath: Life debt. Their backstory s basically the same as Wraith squadron- pilots on their last chance that noone else wants- but no names are revealed.
A show following Specter squdron could be amazing. Elements of Rogue Squadron comics and books, Wraith squadron- you could even throw in a "Mining Guild Automated factory ship gone rogue on mon-cal" arc to include the best part of Dark Empire.

Remember what happened with Heir to the Empire.
An author asks another author to write about a squadron the other wrote about, and then that squadron got its own story.
Yo dawg, I heard you like squadrons so I put a squadron in your squadron.

Okay, but only if we get Chuck Wendig to not write it and maybe bring back Stackpole.
Or perfect the technology to bring Aaron Allston back from the grave.
Anyway, I actually think an "X-WING" TV series would be pretty good, you could take a lot of cues from the original comics, novels and game series in a serial format - telling vignettes with linked over-arcs like Rebels. And plus you could sell lots of toys and comics and give cheap mobile games content that way. Maybe after Rebels ends its run. Right now the post RotJ world is very bland in LF's rush to clear the plate and set a very long stage to TFA.

Phantom One- Wedge Antillies, hero of Yavin and Endor.
Phantom 2- (redshirt of the week)
Phantom 3- (redshirt of the week)
Phantom 4- Former squadron leader who had a mental breakdown after his team was wiped out.
Phantom 5- Corellian ex-cop framed for murder
Phantom 6- Incomprehensable alien.
Phantom 7- Bothan hacker
Phantom 8- Crazy Separatist Droid-fighter-brain
A series would be nice. Likelihood is zero though.
A shame really, there's potential in it and apart from the fighter scenes (which after book 1 are quite scarce) it could be relatively cheap to produce.
What Disney exec would not approve a 'Top Gun with X-Wings' movie?
Rogue Squadron live action TV series on Netflix please.
