Sparrowhawk Grey - OCC

By TheShard, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

What's the difficulty of my attempt to disable stun feature on the cuff?

The guards each have a stun stick on their belts, and blasters hanging on a shoulder holster under their jackets. You could also probably improvise the metal chairs as weapons or shields, but they'd be ungainly. Three exits - the door you came in, the door you came out, and a skylight (non-opening, but it looks like its Tibanna Crystal, breakable with a good hard smash) 15 ft above you. The floor is also polished stone, and fairly slippery. There is a security barrier in the middle of the room with a bypass to one side unlocked by a button on the far side of the room, and an open doorway in the center with a body scanner (think of an airport line). Table has a variety of scanning devices set out on it for examining bags, etc. Head guard is not very vigilant, there is one guard who is - in fact she's downright jumpy. The way her uniform is carefully pressed and spotless, she's either the new kid or extremely anal retentive.

Subterfuge, with an improvised tool, it'd be difficult. Add a setback device because you're doing it to yourself, which is pretty awkward.

If I flipped a Destiny point on that check do I upgrade my pool? Or does it lower the difficulty? Also would the check be any different just to pop the cuff off?

And is that a mechanics check I'm assuming.

Anyone out there?

I'm still here!

I am

I am! It's not my turn, is it? I didn't think it was?

This has so much promise, I like the characters the setting its it's awesome... Any suggestions on getting it back on a reliable posting schedule, I think expecting a high post rate is unlikely at this point, how does once or twice a week sound to everyone?

I'll be honest, it's all up to @keshalyi, really. A game can kind of skip over a player in a group scene if they're dragging, but it goes nowhere if the GM doesn't post.

I'm here

I think things have stalled due to RL issues for Keshalyi, unfortunately.

If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to GM another EotE game for you all. Fresh characters, so we can pick this one up later if Keshalyi wants to. No Force, Freighter must cost 120k or less. If you're all interested, I'll make an OOC for that game and we can hammer out character and group details over there.

I'm down though I'm gonna have to pull Nir into a game if this doesn't pick back up.

That's fair, I just don't want to eliminate the possibility of this game starting back up again by essentially creating a duplicate. I also want a more "pure" EotE game to start with, maybe seguing into more AoR or even FaD later on down the line. I'll still allow careers from AoR (since there's nothing to say that people with those careers can;t go freelance), but not FaD.

My initial thoughts are bounty hunters bounty hunting on the Rim. Either a team where everyone in the group is a bounty hunter and you've all banded together (likely to take down an elusive and dangerous target) or one person is the bounty hunter and the rest are all either support team, or some other mix.

I'm game for either! We could multi-class pretty easily by having 'specialties' instead of just a bunch of Bounty Hunter careers.

Oh, most definitely. I'm a firm proponent that anyone can be a bounty hunter, you don't need that as your Career.

So that's two. I'll give @Imperial Stormtrooper and @Richardbuxton a day or so to see if they're interested before I post the OOC thread and open it up to general recruitment.

I'm down for that too. I would be interested in a techy, with Droids. I have been keen to try out the SM rules and not had a chance yet. I'll think it over anyway and see how it fits into the group.

Give me a day and I reply in a minute ?. It's 4.30am here and yet my forum senses where tingling!

@Benjan Meruna Any chance you would be interested in it being an "additional xp" game like Knight Level. I don't mind if there's no extra money I just know PBP can be a little slow. Starting ahead can allow a little more flexiblity and some more unique talents at the beginning. I'll still play no matter what, I'm just wondering.

I second the knight or bonus xp of some sort. Would we be doing a scum and villainy type campaign or would we be attached to a particular "side"? Hunting imperial war criminals maybe? Or are we hunting rebels? Or are we gonna hunt any one, cash rules everything around us?

I think I'm going to say starting characters, sorry. I know pbps can progress really slowly, which is why I want to do two things:

1. Stick to the original concept @TheShard had for this game: a high post rate game. My intention is 1 post (per scene for me, if the group is split) per weekday. Posts may or may not happen on the weekend, but I think we can all manage 1 post a day during the week, we're an active bunch. :D

2. Give out a lot of XP, more than I would for an in-person session covering the same amount of in-game time.

I will set obligation at 15, so you'll be able to get a little extra XP to start with there, at the cost of maybe having to look over your shoulder a bit... ;)

I think that sounds reasonable. What about the setting?

I got a few ideas cooking for characters...

Perhaps start the OOC so we don't flood this thread too much?

Yeah, at this point we've got three people. Imperial has the fourth slot unless he's not interested, and we can do a waiting list past that.

I'm thinking Rebels era, so a couple of years before Yavin. Early enough to have Rebels be little more than blips on most people's radar, late enough to get Rebel bounties if you want them. And of course, the ultimate score: a fugitive Jedi.

Overall, the feel I want to go for at the beginning is just scraping to get by. Whatever ship you start will not be new, the bunks on your ship are hard, credits for fuel come out of your "food that doesn't suck" budget, etc. Depending on how you guys handle background (and if you take additional Obligation for XP/credits), you'll either be unproven greenhorns in the biz looking for their big break, or down-and-outers looking for one last chance to prove they're the real deal.
