Less than 3 months away and we haven't heard a thing.... usually this is the time tickets go on sale...?
Come on now FFG, where's my Worlds info
Hear hear. We've first got to get through the mess of getting our hands on tickets. Then once that's done start looking at plane and hotel availabilities.
Maybe they have to wait until regionals season is over? Not sure but that might be why there's a delay.

IT could be bc of that, but come on. Isn't there a regional on the 22 of Feb. Cutting it too close.
Either way we should at least get general info.
Just the dates would be good. Unless they are out already and I have missed them. Would need to book flight and hotel. Cant do anything without a date.
Dates are out in some oblique places. They were announced at the in flight report at GenCon in august. Also just said again on twitter a bit ago. Here ya go
edit: tried to paste a pic. Too big. Lame. Dates are May 3-7th.
Edited by MasterchiefspiffIt was also posted in the article about Store Champs back in...Nov/Dec?
I would like a schedule just so I know how many days to take off work. Do I need to be there Wed or can I show up Friday.

Bugger, thought it was the end of May
As not having been there before, are there side events and other things to do. Maybe look around the HQ and see where the 'magic' happens? Seems like I may be there from the 2nd to the 8th so having other things to take in (at the event or in the surrounding area) after I get KO'd after the swiss would be nice.

Each main event has 1 side event with it, 2 in some rare cases. There are pickup games happening everywhere, even the Radisson's lobby. FFG HQ has no tours or anything that I know of. Not much to see there, but they have a HUGE game library to pick from. I didn't see much in the immediate surrounding area, but both downtowns are about 45min by public transport. The Mall of America is a little more than an hour away. Good time to get clothes(it's tax-free in MN).
Remember we'll only have SW games this time, so who knows what attendance will look like.
I only play IA and Destiny so hopefully they wont clash

Glad to have gotten a response on Feb 1st with a "getting it out ASAP"
That being said they normally have 1 yr to get prepared for the event. This time they had a year and a half... or should've. They should've had 1 team working on November worlds and one working on May's. Now if that's not feasible then I could see them saying they had a year for Nov and 6 months for May. But you can't tell me they couldn't dabble in both at the same time.
I don't want to get there Tuesday night when my events aren't till Friday. The longer we all have to wait the more the flights clost
10 1/2 weeks to go and still no info regarding schedule from 3-7 May.
Don't need to book tickets for events, just need to know the days.
Come on FFG, need to know to book flights and hotel room.
Edited by TryerImpHere's the schedule. You have to dig, but it's in the registration announcement they posted today.

My question is if the IA event is on the 4th and I get knocked out first round, and I'm not able to get tickets for any of the other events, will there be anything for me to do those other days (other than watch other people play in tournaments)?
Also, isn't there usually a side tourney for IA the day before the actual event? Will that be true for other games as well?

Is that the only day for it, or will there be a second round the next day if we make it that far? Otherwise, why would all of the events begin on the 5th or before (if the event goes until the 7th).
The IA link reads, " Day 2 will begin on Friday 5th at 9am," so it sounds like IA qualifiers are on Thursday 5/4 and the IA top cut is on Friday 5/5. X-Wing has similar details where it looks like Day 1A is Friday 5/5, Day 1B is Saturday 5/6, and XW top cut is on Sunday 5/7. So if you are looking to play both events, I think it will be safe to register for IA and register for XW Day 1B.
Shame Destiny and IA are on the same day
At least I will get some shopping days then once I get KO'd after the swiss

Thanks! I just saw those details so I edited that out of my question, but you ninja'd me :-)

Is there really nothing to do once your event is over? Are there impromptu tourneys or anything like that? I'm having a hard time with driving 10 hours there and back and staying for four days (I'll be riding with some Xwing players) for potentially a one-day event.

Actually, I just checked and there's a Day 1 B on the 5th for Destiny, so there's still an option to do both!

I will be looking at other games being played and getting into (Hopefully) a few side events as well. Would be good if the swiss went into 2 days then the cut at dinner. Then have the cut in the afternoon/evening.
Not been before so no idea on how it works so will have to wait and see.
Just don't want 1 day of swiss and 1 day of side events if both systems happen to clash with timings. Unless some miracle happens and I actually make the cut.
Im just going there to play against new people, gain some ideas about play styles etc and take in the whole atmosphere that is on offer.
Where it shows 'Day 2' against the systems being played. Is this the day for the people who have made the cut???

Not familiar with Day A and B thing. Can one play IA and Destiny this way?

The two different Day 1's mean that it would be possible to play both. Two pools of players will have a Day 1, and then the top cut from each day will go on to Day 2. What I don't know is if you can specifically sign up for specific days when you buy your ticket. I would assume the answer is yes, but I've never gone to Worlds before so I don't know for sure. I can't imagine they would do it otherwise. The event is set up so Destiny players can also play either X-wing or IA (unless they make the top cut).

There's always a lot of side events to keep you occupied! Otherwise the Twin Cities have a lot of cool things to see and do as well.
