stress Wes and Wedge hang together providing cover while Luke does his trench run solo.

but what i actually run is this. Jake is actually quite the beast and I used this list to win a tourney in Jersey.

Maybe swap him out for Biggs? That should keep Wedge on the table for at least another round or two.

Yeah, that was my first thought with an all T-65 list, but I wanted to try all PS10 as well. I've tried it, time to move on.

I'd agree on lone wolf for luke. Pairing up his ability with the reroll with R2D2 makes for quite an impressive end-game tank.

R7 isnt bad. Fettling the other player's dice (or preventing them doing so) has been a thing in Xwing ever since people first started swearing at Dark Curse, and two of the most important cards at the moment are Omega Leader and Zuckuss, both of whom do exactly this.

The problem is having the target lock - Wedge (normally) shoots first, meaning he probably wants to use the lock to kill someone. Plus, whilst a defensive lock makes you tougher, so would a focus - and that's not dependent on being shot at by a specific attacker. Plus, countermeasures have become irksomely common, blowing away your lock before you use it.

R7 is amazing and really annoying to face, but he really needs someone to feed him the locks he needs. If you now have the transport, look at Tarn Mison - his ability fits R7 like a glove, because he can NEVER be attacked without the option to use R7 unless you've used R7 already. Pair up with his ability to focus as his action, and you've got a ship that may not "regen" but is **** near as tough as those who do, and is cheap enough to be a "third man" in a lavishly equipped squad, or even fit in a four-x-wing squad if you're so inclined.

R3, on the other hand, is a bit fail. The good news is that it only needs to "work" once to justify its cost. But for it to "work, you need"

- to shoot first (not hard with wedge, admittedly)

- to roll an eyeball that you're not able to do anything with (about 50% with unmodified dice or about 10% with a target lock)

- to then be shot at and use that evade to cancel a point of damage.

Which is why multiple R3 astromechs are worse than one - the ship without an evade will be the one shot up and killed.

I dunno. Theoretically its nasty paired with juke, but then you're spending 5 points on an ability that may not work the turn you need it to.

It could save an xwing in a pinch, but it seems no more likely to do so than bb8s free barrel roll, or getting a free lock with a high PS shot with a targeting astromech.

In theory a couple of R3 astromechs could feed a swarm leader, but I cant think of good pilots to do it with - getting evades from awings or tie fighters just seems simpler.

Oh yes, thanks! When I saw what the R7 did for Biggs a few times, and I got the Rebel Transport, I knew there would be a list in my future with Tarn!

How did your list go?

Indeed. Its a good pairing. Thats The key, really - the xwings secret weapon (so far as it has one) are the pilot abilities: finding pairings of pilot and astromech are the key (hobbie and targeting astromech is another one)

I posted on the first page this morning. It did okay. It didn't feel like a complete fail and didn't wow me...was just an okay, fun list to try.
