I am currently converting a Gamorrean guard to look like Beebop and Rocksteady. I use white glue (wood glue) to modify the face of one. I like the way I can sculpt by addition. I use this technique to hide some joint in some of my models too, instead of green stuff. I was wondering if some of you have already try to work whit glue and if you experienced bad long term effects?
white glue
I would think that the white glue might have a problem with adhearing to the plastic. White glue is water based and may resist. White glue can be brittle when dry. The epoxy putties are stronger in the long run and hold form easier than glue when modeling. But hey, if you get it to work, more power to you!
I use wood glue and sand for the bases, color with diluted paint, and finally coat (usually matte coat).
Thanks. For my part I put a couple layers of varnish on top of of the glue and it hold quite well for the conversion. And I don't even see the joints on my rancor when I paint on top. I only hope that it will last!
