Wave XI Speculation

I'd love to see a return to the X-Wing PC games for the next wave, for old time's sake.

The YT-2000 "Otana" and XG-1 have both appeared in other FFG games, and the XG-1 quite recently as well so that gives me a bit of hope. Add the Cloakshape and Skipray for Scum and you've got a delicious wave of old-school goodness

Yep

However...

Sabine's TIE has set a scary precedent; repaints in Wave releases. So we could end up seeing a Partisan X-Wing or Mining Guild Pac-Man TIE. There's also the Resistance Transport for Force Awakens plus Krennic's Shuttle, the Imperial Cargo Shuttle and TIE Reaper. And after how well the ARC-170 was received, I'm not so sure the N1 is out of the question, either.

I wouldn't mind seeing more Imperial Bounty Hunters. Maybe find a way to bring in a turret slot for the Imps so they can get their hands on that sweet sweet TLT.

Speaking of Rebel repaints, that Lambda Shuttle that they used to get on Endor could also come in. IMHO it should have been before the TIE. We can have Han, Luke, and Chewie with their Rebel Alliance pilot abilities. Han would be a natural Buzzsaw while Luke and Chewie makes for some good tanks, a Bothan Spy could be the generic or you could throw in another unique as if it would make a difference, or set the Spy at pilot skill 4 for 26 points so you can't have more than 3.

I haven't seen Cad Banes ship the Xanadu Blood mentioned. Allows for another Bounty Hunter to be added to the game.

Whoa, I don't remember Cad Bane having a ship. I've always wondered why he wasn't showing up as a random crew card in Scum releases, hopefully it's because he's getting his own ride.

I still think the Scurrg is a top contender for Scum that gets surprisingly little mention in these threads (I counted one in today's iteration). If you look at the starfighter/small ship releases for Armada, every single ship there also appears in X-Wing... except for... you guessed it... the Scurrg. It would also fill a small-base bomber role that is currently lacking in the Scum faction (although looking at the Wookiepedia article for the ship it lists 6 laser cannons, a turret, and no torps/missiles, which reads more like a 4 dice primary + turret slot than a K-Wing/Bomber/Punisher style toolkit... which doesn't jive with my memory of the game) and it's vaguely canon, if videogames count.

I would love to see another A-Wing release, because even post-Chardaan it's not quite right. That card made the ship useable, but A-Wings aren't supposed to be disposable swarm craft. The true solution was and is giving it some sort of rear arc gimmick to represent the rotating lasers. But I'm skeptical towards the notion that the game will start doing 2nd try fixes/3rd product versions of ships.

The Skipray would be cool for the Empire. The faction has room for an arc-based large ship with a majority-white dial, and they desperately need something with a turret slot (as long as it's not cheap enough to spam TLTs).

Edit: I've never thought there was enough meat on the bone for a Rebel version of the Lamba, but I do think it would be cool if they released a "Strange Bedfellows" cardboard-heavy, multi-faction box that included the Tydirium, Imperial versions of Bossk/Dengar/Zuckuss/IG-88 (with a mandatory unique title so only one of them could appear in any Imperial squad at a time) and Scum versions of Han/Chewie/Lando. But so far FFG hasn't released anything that requires faction-loyal players to pay for things from other factions that they'll never use (unless you count Star Vipers) and that kind of release would prove to be highly controversial.

TIE Aggressor
TIE Hunter
TIE Oppressor
TIE Avenger

Don't forget the Wookiee "AntiSlaver" Auzituck (and the no-so-new Mining Guild Modified TIE, Cham's Nu-class Attack Shuttle, Hondo's Sentinel-class Shuttle, Maul's Nightbrother) from SW:Rebels.

TFA transport, n1 starfighter for Leia pilot, maybe the new ship they use on Rebels like a new phantom.

Assault gunboat (hopefully) - I cant think of any other ties that haven't been done, so the gunboat might actually fit. I hope they dont do Krennic's shuttle since it would be yet another one already.

Maul's ship on rebels, mining guild ties, maybe the class of ship like Lady Luck (forget the model number) for scum.

If there's another Imperial shuttle coming down the tubes, I'm not buying it. I don't care if it is 8 dice PWT with 5 evade, every dial movement green, and 8 crew slots.

Give us a new X-Wing/Y-Wing release to tie in to the awesome scenes in RO and to reinvigorate both ships so we have something more than Biggs and TLT carriers.

Give us the Gunboat so the Empire is something more than TIEs and shuttles.

Give us Scum YT-1300s so the Rebels know the butthurt Imperial players felt when Sabine's TIE was announced (or some other Scum ship).

Bring balance to the force before the new movie comes out then you can release all the new goodies.

The Ark Angel for the Empire

Volt Cobra for Scum

Troop transport from TFA for Rebels

Expectation:

Rebels - Resistance Transport

Empire - Zeta-class Cargo Shuttle

Scum - Mining Guild TIE, Scurrg H-6

Hope:

Rebels - Auzituck Gunship

Empire - Zeta-class Cargo Shuttle

Scum - Hondo's stolen Sentinel Shuttle, Rihkxyrk

That said, there is nothing above that I would be truly excited about, and I would be happier if they effectively skipped a wave and gave us Ace/Veteran/Hero packs for each faction (x2 for Scum)

SCURRG!!!!! All I care about is SCURRG!!! Give it to Rebels and Scum. They need a new crossover ship. Nothing else matters. 3/2 Bomb x2, Salvaged Astromech x2, Illicit, Crew having SCURRG!!!

ps- oh, and with a bomb generator title. :D

The Auzituck would probably work well as a dual faction scum/rebel ship. Assuming some named wookie pilots for the rebels can be found.

Black Krrsantan makes a good contender for a scum pilot.

maybe an Auzitick in a new most wanted that gave the yt-1300/2400 to scum but also rebel dials could work.

No. More. Shuttles.

This ain't Palpatine's bus service.

I think we are very likely to see Hondo's shuttle for scum if for no other reason than to give Jabba another ride.

Is the Scurrg large base size?

I like Gibarian's idea. It has 0% chance of showing up in the real world but how much fun would this be: A unique illicit "Imperial Contract." Must be Pilot Skill 6 or higher. Allows you to field a Scum ship in an Imperial list. Scum only crew (but not imperial only) allowed on said ship. Maybe a fun idea for a casual store event.

Like the Firespray? Don't forget the Death Gang and Kanjiklub had ships docking with Han's container transport. None of those characters have made an appearance in the game so far.

The Firespray is Pluto. Never should have been called a planet imperial but just showed up too early to fit in its correct category.

I would like to see new pilots for some of the existing ships. Slow down on the creation of new ships so that we can spend more time enjoying the ones we have. Maybe create expansion packs that give new cards and pilots with some acrylics to jazz up the playing field.

Indeed, it was more a case of not realizing the success that the game would hold and thus not having the forethought to make the scum faction from the get-go. A matter of getting out a large based iconic ship as a counterpart to the rebel Millenium Falcon.

Strong believer in the H6 Scruug Bomber being a thing in X wing.

Would expect it to be three to four dice attack, with a turret slot, missile and bomb slot as well as the illicit slot. Four pilots, PS1, PS3 with EPT, Jinkins at PS5 without and then Nym at PS7 with EPT. Cards would include a new EPT, a Concussion Missile card and a Cruise Missile card, Nym and Jinkins as crew, two Proton Bomb tokens and a Plasma Scourge Bomb token.

Havoc title would be the bomb generator, which would be a RNG extra munition for bomb slot upgrades (only discard on a focus?)

Nym (pilot) would allow you to modify a blank result to a hit when rolling for bomb damage. Nym (crew) would be 1 point and allow you to re-roll blank results when rolling for bomb damage.

Jinkins (pilot) would have Deadeye, whilst his crew version would allow you to change your missile upgrade prior to deployment to another missile or bomb upgrade of less or equal value.

Cruise Missile - 5 points - 4 attack

Range - 2 - 3

Attack: (Target Lock): Discard this card to perform this attack. The Defender cannot spend focus tokens during this attack.

Plasma Scourge - 5 points

When you reveal your manoeuvre dial, you may discard this card to drop 1 Plasma Scourge token. This token detonates at the end of the activation phase. When this bomb detonates, roll 2 attack dice for each ship within range 1 of the token and suffer all hits and critical results rolled. Each critical result rolled counts as 2 hits if resolved against shield tokens. Then discard this token.

Yoi dont need rng

AndI remember vaguely that havoc made proton bombs out of its shields, so theres your extra munitions mechanic

Although the Death Gang are pictured in the art on "A Score to Settle"...

Would actually make taking Gonk crew a thing.

Would probably be needless complex but a real "cruise missile" would be sorta fluffy and fun.

Maybe call it a heavy rocket.

Deploy from front guides as an action. Rocket is represented by a cardboard token with nubs on front and back. (Think Senator's Shuttle) Activates at PS zero (or 13, I can't decide) using its own maneuver dial and detonates whenever it overlaps (or is overlapped) by a ship or obstacle.

Would be easy enough to incorporate as a house rule using the Shuttle token and a spare Tie Fighter Dial (no K-turns allowed)

Its almost okay that all the Imperial Firespray pilots are pretty bad. People barely run Scum FS, let alone Imp ones.
