No hull left but I have shields

By bswaim, in X-Wing Rules Questions

So what happens when I have no hull left but I do have shields. Say Kyo and Wampa have gone my to town on my X-wing and I loose my last hull to damage that bypasses shields. I have 2 shield and no hull. Does that remove my ship? I know that in the "real world" no hull means no ship but as for game world I'm not clear.

Thanks for the help in advance.

It is destroyed regardles of shields.

RRG P9 under Damage:

Quote

If a ship has a number of Damage cards equal to its hull value, it is destroyed.

Thanks!

Point of order... You always have your full hull. Your ship just happens to blow up when you have damage cards that equal or exceed your Hull value. :)

This. Hull never goes down unless Boba Fett happens to take away an upgrade that was giving you more Hull. It's unfortunate that at least one FAQ entry reference remaining hull because it never changes.

Having shields remaining just serves to contain the explosion when the ship blows up. ;)

I miss my old WH40k titan blowing up, and reactor going nuclear in the middle of Tyranid swarm, now.... :D

I had something similar in an Epic Titan Legions game. I fired a barrage from a Warlord titan at a Ork mob that was about to assault a wounded Reaver titan. The barrage scattered onto the Reaver titan which failed it's armour save and caused the reactor to blow, killing half a dozen Space Marine stands that were defending it. A truly epic loss to friendly fire.

Point of Order! Interrupting and rising to a point to correct a factual inaccuracy is a "Point of Information," not the same as rising to correct a mistake in parliamentary procedure, a Point of Order.
