Need help and ideas for 'Epic Ship ONLY' event.

Hello, so I'm thinking of an Epic Ship Only event for my club (we're in Santa Clarita, California. Green Tower Games, Tuesday nights by the way). It'll be each player can only fly one huge ship and only up to 150 pts. This is easily done by the guys who own CR-90s and Raiders, but I'd like to include the guys with Rebel Transports and Assault Carriers. Obviously there needs to be some additional modifications since those ships have half the health, have the upgrade slots, and can only shoot once (and the Transport can't shoot at all).

So I was thinking to help with this, for the lesser huge ships will gain:
-A fore and aft section card and duplicate their PS, hull, and shield stats to each section
-Copied upgrade slots & actions from their respective bigger counterparts,
-Instead of gaining a primary weapon, both sections can produce up to 4 energy making 8 total (plus any extension due to title cards if chosen).

So while the larger huge ships have more offensive power with their additional primary weapons (one being a 5 dice attack and the other that can attack twice), the smaller ships produce more energy which can recharge weapons faster and have a greater shield recovery (even when one section is crippled). Also, all weapons on the lesser ships can ignore their firing arc (since only the front section of the Assault Carrier has one).

Here is what each of the lesser ships would look like.

Rebel Transport:
Foreward Section: PS 3, Cost 50, Actions: Target Lock (Coordinate too but it'll be useless one-on-one)

Aft section: Cost 40, Actions: Recover & Reinforce

Imperial Assault Transport
Foreward Section: PS 2, Cost 50, Actions: Recover, Reinforce

Aft section: Cost 50, Actions: Target Lock
Energy: 4
Agility: 0

Shield: 5

That's a rough idea of what I'm thinking, but this is just a first pass, and I could definitely use some constructive comments and ideas. So I'm looking for ways to help bring the lesser huge ships up to a somewhat balanced level with the bigger ones. If anyone has tried something similar then please feel free to share. Thanks

Well, the "lesser" ships will cost less, so player will be able to spend more points on support. Not sure the buffs are needed.

Yes, but with half the slots available then that of the bigger ships, then there isn't really anything to spend them on. This is for Huge ships only so it wouldn't be able to bring in other ships to help attack and defend it.

Since C-Roc is not yet released i would do:

1) Dont mess with original desing. That usually can turn our weird :/

2) Allow SV conversion kit for the transport. I know its unofficial but its really well done and can boost that transport to 100 easy.

2,5) Think of something with theme to allow fielding something alongside Transport. No one gonna field its on its own even buffed somehow. Like ex. 1 large ship costing no more than 50pts to keep "smuggle and transport " theme.

3)Gozanti needs to field Ties. Period. Thats the theme of this ship.

Ok, this is going nowhere. I guess it'll just have to be for the Corvette and the Raider because the suggestions so far are to keep the ships as is and bring in smaller ships to support them. But that's exactly what I'm trying to avoid. If we were going to do that then we might as well just play a normal Epic game. The idea was ONE huge ship only.

And what were you expecting? For us to redesign both Gozanti and Transport?

Gozanti. IS. A. CARRIER. -want to make it gunship? Design custom card like in case of SV Transport. It would be ultra cool to face it and its fighter screen as a lone Raider/Corvete captain for me.

Transport...well its a transport. Give it a transport theme. Maybe custom victory condition for its users like use the second smuggle ship to fetch some crates or something.

For me its unavoidable here to support smaller epic ships with regular ones. But you can do it in a way where regular ones feel like an integral part of a huge one...
