Hello, so I'm thinking of an Epic Ship Only event for my club (we're in Santa Clarita, California. Green Tower Games, Tuesday nights by the way). It'll be each player can only fly one huge ship and only up to 150 pts. This is easily done by the guys who own CR-90s and Raiders, but I'd like to include the guys with Rebel Transports and Assault Carriers. Obviously there needs to be some additional modifications since those ships have half the health, have the upgrade slots, and can only shoot once (and the Transport can't shoot at all).
So I was thinking to help with this, for the lesser huge ships will gain:
-A fore and aft section card and duplicate their PS, hull, and shield stats to each section
-Copied upgrade slots & actions from their respective bigger counterparts,
-Instead of gaining a primary weapon, both sections can produce up to 4 energy making 8 total (plus any extension due to title cards if chosen).
So while the larger huge ships have more offensive power with their additional primary weapons (one being a 5 dice attack and the other that can attack twice), the smaller ships produce more energy which can recharge weapons faster and have a greater shield recovery (even when one section is crippled). Also, all weapons on the lesser ships can ignore their firing arc (since only the front section of the Assault Carrier has one).

Foreward Section: PS 3, Cost 50, Actions: Target Lock (Coordinate too but it'll be useless one-on-one)

That's a rough idea of what I'm thinking, but this is just a first pass, and I could definitely use some constructive comments and ideas. So I'm looking for ways to help bring the lesser huge ships up to a somewhat balanced level with the bigger ones. If anyone has tried something similar then please feel free to share. Thanks
