Hiya guys!

Just wanted to hear your opinions on your favourite Imperial and Rebel Squadrons and why you like them. I'll go first;

Imperial: TIE Fighter. Cheap, fast, looks iconic and you can take a huge amount of them in one list, which of course makes them even better. They just look super awesome in huge swarms and make for iconic squadron clashes. Very close second is the Defender, although I like the Bomber model the most.

Rebels: The trusty X-wing. Durable, mid-speed fighter with Escort and Bomber? Yes please. Also, they look pretty neat when painted. On some days I might favour the good ol' Y-wing, though. I love the ship and I think that for 1 more point than the TIE Bomber, you get a lot of value for your points. The only reason it loses out to the trusty X-wing for me is that X-wing is a better multi-purpose fighter. I mean I play a lot of Epic games in X-wing and I often run lists of 7-9 X-wings (yes, I own that many X-wings in that game). I really like the X-wing aces more as well (at least in Armada).

Favourite squadrons? I love to swarm the field with squadrons if possible, so tie fighters and Z-95 head hunters really go for me ( in a 400 point game, 16 ties and 19 Z-95s on the board!)

disclaimer: I don't play imperials and I don't have 19 Z95 squadrons, lol

i like the look of X wings the most however and they are iconic

Not a huge fan of the generic X-wings, though at least one of the aces is always in my fleet. Over all, I like the A-wings the best. They are the perfect air-superiority fighter in the game. You want them to Bomb? They can Bomb. You want them to intercept a Rhymerball? They're there. You want them to Tie down your opponent's interceptors? They're on their way!

As for Imps: Tie ln all the way!

It should be noted than I only have the Core and 1 of each squadron pack from waves 1 and 2.

Empire:

• Personal fav: Firespray: I love how they look, they bomb, and survive. Nothing more satisfying than unloading 6 Firesprays on a ship, at medium range!
• Best for cost: Mauler. Still the best overall at doing the most damage. Wrecks low hull squads.

Rebel:

• Personal fav: B-Wing. So great with Yavaris, sooooooo great!
• Best for cost: YT2400: Best overall squad in the game, for the cost.

Valen Rudor for being hilarious. He is to Armada what Omega Leader is to X-wing. An annoying little git.

Share Bey all the way. Having the potential to kill Ties outright with her counter attacks alone is great. She rarely survives a game, but watching enemy squadron ball limp away after burning through her brace, scatter and savage counter warms my cockles. Paired with Tycho, you have the Armada equivalent of Butch and Sundance. Never leave home without 'em.

Y-wings, because they look so cool, even when Vader blasts them out of the sky!

i think it may also stem from the very sudden point when my kid-brain realized that there was a different kind of fighter than the X-wing in the movie. For a kid raised on shows where there was only one type of good guy ship the concept blew my mind...

rebels: x wing, it is so well rounded that I wish the empire had them.

Empire:Tie Defender. I love the look and what Armada has done with them. bomber, speed 5, nice anti squad die, and decent health.

Imperial: TIE Interceptor. Always one of my favorite designs, and has a fantastic amount of damage output for its points.

Rebels: Y-wings. Solid and straightforward bomber goodness.
