For the purpose of your actions and Upgrade cards, you may treat friendly ships at Range 2-3 as being at Range 1.

The wording on this is a bit confusing for me and it equates to one of two scenarios that I did not see an answer for.

Does his ability work as one of the following:

a. Action and Upgrade cards equipped on Major Stridan may treat friendly ships at Range 2-3 as being at Range 1

b. Action and Upgrade cards equipped to ANY of your ships may treat friendly ships at Range 2-3 as being at Range 1

The reason I ask is that the wording is somewhat generic and doesn't mention "of this ship" as part of its text which makes it seem that it's for everything. A friend argues otherwise stating that it's implied to be for only that ship.

"You" refers to the ship/ship the card is on, so it is only stuff on stridan that has a range 1-3 range 1 bubble for allies (wingman probably a reason why they didn't give him an ept)

For everything in this game, "you" is always the ship.

Many Ship card abilities use the word “you” to refer to the corresponding ship. Upgrade and Damage cards that use the word “you” refer to the ship to which the card is assigned.

Don't overlook the new (ish) coordinate action .. he can use it for someone at range three of him ...
