Silly upgrade idea, because I heard you like EPTs

By DagobahDave, in X-Wing

Full of Surprises; elite pilot talent; 1 point; Your upgrade bar gains 2 [elite pilot talent] upgrade icons. You cannot equip 2 or more of the same [elite pilot talent] Upgrade cards. You can only equip [elite pilot talent] upgrades that cost 1 point.

What's the most broken thing we can do with that?

Tomax Bren with some combination of Adrenaline Rush, Cool Hand, Crack Shot, and Lightning Reflexes?

Draw Their Fire + Determination sounds alright.

PS10 Tycho with PtL and Rage?

Awings do this and it's only not broken because it's on an awing. Soontir with double EPT and double modifications? Tomax probably somehow. Chirpy with expose and expertise/predator. Vader with everything.

Soontir with PTL and Predator so he can actually do some damage for once looks like a strong start. Or Lone Wolf for even more Defense, too!

The card doesn't let you do that. 1-point EPTs only.

Ooh I read it the other way around, no 1 point upgrades! :D

Then I don't think it can be outrageously broken. Thomax Brenn would be lots of fun with two discard cards at his disposal. Maybe make it "Up to two" to prevent uber-stacked A-Wings.

Adaptability and VI on Vader is about as broken as it will get - a PS 12 ace with double-action economy and an auto-crit.

Can VI and adaptability even stack?

Yes, absolutely.

So Jake could get VI twice with A wing title and have PS 11 for 2 points. Hmmmm ?

This is on A-Wing Test Pilot as well. So no, no double VI.

No they can't.

The rules reference states that only the most recent alteration of pilot skill applies from the base - example given being Ship X with VI, then gets damaged cockpit. The ship goes to PS 0, not PS 2. Adaptability is applied during the place forces step which is a game step, hence cancelling out the VI.

On the subject of Tomax, he's once per round so the 1st round you use both discard-EPTs, you'll lose one.

Thanks for the correction.
