Which sleeves to buy for cards?

By MashedBROTATOES, in X-Wing

so I decided to store my pilot and upgrade cards in a three ring binder. Any suggestions on which sleeves I should get? I've looked on Amazon and there's so many different choices I'm not sure which ones would work best.

I like the Ultimate Guard sleeves, they have the right sizes for both upgrade and pilot cards.

I think I may have not meant sleeves. I'm looking for three ring binder pages to hold my cards.

UltraPro are the ones I use for pilot cards. Nine to a page. I keep my upgrade cards in small folios, also nine to a page..

No, I got what you meant but I used the wrong brand name - I use Ultra-Pro platinum 16-pocket pages for upgrade cards and 9-pocket pages for pilot cards.

enjoy!

Any of the Star Wars special release sleeves will do, but FFG does like to rotate them out so just a word of caution. As for the small upgrades cards FFG has a color code on both the package of their sleeves and on the box. For the small ones use the yellow size.

As much as I love my pilot cards in original trilogy poster- illustrated official FFG sleeves (A New Hope for rebels, Empire Strikes Back for imperials, and Return of the Jedi for scum), Ultimate Guard matte 66x91 does a fantastic job also. Cards fit snugly and have a nice feel to them. As per mini cards, FFG yellow, Ultimate Guard supreme mini american (there's also specific X-Wing ones, but I haven't tried them), and Ultra-Pro mini american 41x63 are your best choices IMHO.

After much testing I find the transparent sleeves to work best. :)

I use Ultra-pro for the pilots, and the mini American transparent sleeves for the upgrades/damage deck.

For future reference, in case anybody comes by looking for sleeve sizes, this thread on boardgamegeek has that information for literally thousands of games:

I've got a 3" ring binder made by Case It from Target, I think it was around $20. There are file spots at the front that can hold all my paperwork for the game, missions, rulebooks, etc. That Velcros in and doesn't budge. Then I have Ultimate Guard 9-pocket side loaders for the pilots and Ultra Pro 16-pocket topload pages for the upgrades. I have 2+ of everything and this system works pretty good. I can find things quickly and setup lists for tournaments very quick. I just use printouts for casual nights.

As for the car sleeves themselves, I use FFG yellows for the small cards and perfect-fit sleeves for the main cards. I find 3 pilot cards in a binder sleeve work better in the smaller sleeves, not to mention you get 100 in a pack!
