General Hux--Works on his own ship?

By Dan4GS, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Simple question, can Hux give a focus (and thus the condition card too) to a ship that is carrying him? For example, if I've got a shuttle with Hux and two other ships, can I give one focus to all ships and the fanatical devotion card to the shuttle?

Thanks for the replies!

Yes.

If the card says 'a friendly ship at range 1-x' it works on the ship it's on; you're always a friendly ship at range 1 of yourself.

If it says 'another friendly ship' (c.f. Systems Officer), it doesn't work on the ship it's on.

Thanks. I thought that was how it worked but wanted to be sure before I tried it in a game.

...and if anyone wants to argue that "range one of you is not you"... just show them Palpatine ;) (it is very much the most commonly used one of these type of cards)

If anyone wants to argue that, just show them the rule book and FAQ, which are very clear that a ship is at range one of, and friendly to, itself.

Also, Palp has no range restrictions at all, so would be irrelevant in this case anyway... He works for the 'a friendly ship' vs 'another friendly ship' part though.
