Paying to much for reprints

Cards in short supply include:

Autothrusters.

Integrated Astromech (I need another 5 for epic. ..and 2 more Royal Guard titles and pilot cards to field 8 of them).

Juke and Comm Relay.

Attanni Mindlink - 3 are needed!

Crackshot.

Any others?

Autothrusters: I can see how some people would want these to be somewhere other than the Starviper. I don't really ever run anything that needs more than 2 copies which is what you get with single Starviper. I've ended up with 4 Starvipers (bought two initially and have two more with custom paint jobs and foldy wings) so I've got more copies than I'll ever use unless I go crazy in Epic.

Integrated Astromech: Not having two of these in the T-70 expansion is a little problematic for people that bought the TFA core (more so if they bought two copies) or that want to use it on their T-65s. This doesn't really need to be in more expansions but having a copy in the Core Set would have been nice.

Juke and Comm Relay: I agree with this one wholeheartedly. I got two TFA Core sets and a TIE/fo expansion when they came out. I have all the TIe/fos that I'll even need. I'd like more than one copy of these cards.

Attani Mindlink: 2 Jumpmasters get you 4 of these. Outside of some craziness in Epic you'll almost never need more than 4 of them. Right now you can build a squad that uses 5 but its kind of horrible. Once the Light Syck title comes out you'll be able to fit 6 copies into a list.

Crack Shot: I think this was accurate when it was only in the Khiraxz. Now it's in 3 different expansions. I could see maybe adding it to a Rebel small ship just to have another small expansion as a source for it in a faction that doesn't have a ship that comes with it.

I was glad to see Wired get added to the TIE/sf expansion. I like the EPT a lot but wasn't willing to buy a third TFA expansion to get another copy.

I had no problem with the cards in the wave 10. There may be a few cards I already have enough of, but they were mostly new.

There are some cards like juke or comm relay I would want more of so I can use all my FOs (my core set was the TFS one). Autothrusters doesn't bug me because I play scum.

It probably would've been better if FFG sold the upgrade cards in a separate pack for each wave release. That way it would easier for folks to get the amount of cards they want and allow newer players to get needed upgrade cards rather than buying multiple ships in order to obtain them.

Unfortunately their contract with Disney/Lucasfilm forbids it. Ships and cards must come together.

Can you point me to where you're getting this information from.

It's been stated by everyone for years. Not sure exactly where FFG let it slip/someone from inside said it.

I'm not sure if it's part of their contract, but certainly at the moment it's a clear and sensible business decision for them to only do ship releases because we keep buying them! If sales fall off and proxying cards becomes the normal way of playing, they might change.

And if a 2nd edition happens?

 That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

What's next, releasing movies which require a library of books and comics just to explain them? Oh!

Right! I'm going to proxy all the cards I want that don't come with the ships I want.

Yes, 1000 times, this is exactly where I'm at. :(

Anyone else feeling ripped off after opening up the new wave 10, only to get a handful of cards that they already own.

Missing the bit where Ffg came to your house and made you buy stuff.

They came to your house too? Man those guys are rough! My arm still stings from them pinching it so hard. And I'm not even gonna talk about 'pink belly'....

Dude, please stop. I've been trying desperately to remember that JUST so I can forget it again :(

#neverForget

Someone made a sarcastic comment about shield tokens earlier in this thread, but I actually agree.

If I were to redo the core set(s) at this point- not even for X-Wing 2.0, just redo what's in the packages!- I'd include a dozen shield, focus, evade and target lock tokens. And 4 small bases + 2 large bases. Also I'd only have the new damage deck. And then stop putting _any_ of those things in regular expansions.

If you get into the game enough to have 6 or so expansions, you basically have enough of all of the above for everything you will ever field. Then you end up trying to figure out how to store stuff you will never need. It's lots of wasted cardboard.
