After the C-ROC is there only 1 more Epic Expansion left? (Epic gone Full Circle)

By Marinealver, in X-Wing

Well, as far as I know, since the C-ROC only has the one hardpoint and no weapons natively, Zuckuss is bad but not a huge deal - you only get one attack and just discarding the stress is about as bad as ships like Dengar which just don't bother with the stress either. If they get like a Corvette type which has it's own primary weapon and can equip a few guns so you can just keep zuckussing with no penalty at all then you have an issue. And lots of the clunkier supposed fixes to Zuckuss (usually aiming to "make stress matter again") are useless on a huge. So I expect a "once per round" or they'll just Navigator him.

I feel like the wording on the Zuckuss card - "When attacking, you may receive any number of stress tokens to choose an equal number of defense dice. The defender must reroll those dice." already precludes his use on a huge ship. If you haven't received any stress tokens, you can't reroll any dice.

" Focus, evade, and stress tokens do not affect huge ships. When a huge ship receives any of these tokens, immediately remove them and return them to the token supply"

So, you still "receive" the token, you just immediately discard it, not that the token is not placed on the ship. It's no different from any other ability that can remove stress tokens.

I think a Rebel Hammerhead is in the future of X-wing after Rogue One. I don't think they are done with Epic yet.

I have always thought that the 'once per round' caveat should have been included from the beginning. I for one would would support this change, and I carry him in Dengaroo or Bossk often.

I am unfamiliar with the phrase 'Navigator him'. What do you mean? I am assuming it is a FAQ change, but I just recently joined the game and am not familiar with the change.

Also Zuckuss isn't as bad on a Huge ship because huge ships do not gain focus tokens which is huge(pun intended;)) when it comes to delivering hits. So Zuckus would be rerolling eyeballs as well as blanks because as of now there isn't a way for Scum huge ships to spend focus. The rebels have that one K-wing and I forgot what the Imperials have besides palp to help the big ship deal with eyeballs. So zuckuss wouldn't be that bad.

In the FAQ for Epic, it states that the card "Navigator" (who allows you to alter the speed of your maneuver when revealed) cannot be equipped to Huge Ships, flat out.

How big was the Hammerhead corvette? can't find a length for it, but I'm assuming it's significantly shorter than the Cruiser?
That could be a nice second corvette for the Rebellion?

On REBELS they are a tiny bit smaller than a CR-90 so I bet we see it next year in EPIC...

I'm really hoping for the hammerhead as seen in rebels with attachable upgrades to turn it into the Rogue One up armoured version. Imagine the joy of having an idea of what upgrades a ship has based upon the model?

Gun pods on the sides? It's got the extra hardpoints upgrade.

More armour and a bigger comm system? It's got coordinate and an extra couple of points of hull.

Fourth engine? Can move an additional 1 as per... That card which came with the Gozanti.

(Or whatever but you get the idea). Hell perhaps the weapons pods even 'undock' like the phantom and become floating weapons platforms/escape pods (check out the Rogue One hammer head after it does it's big shiny thing).

For the imperials though: really would love an argh-kittens. I loved the design the moment I saw it on the clone wars, a great transition between the older republic cruisers and the new order's death wedges. Even scaled down significantly (I would still want it significantly larger than the raider) I think it would be imposing and propperly invoke the daunting presence of the imperial navy.

I mean look at this awesome custom build: http://alternativewargamer.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/commission-arquitens-class-light-cruiser.html

Doesn't it just make you drool?

:)

Zample: here in Boss Happy Happy Battle Parlor... U-WINGS fire cannons in 180 side arcs, and TIE Strikers drop bombs!

What if they FAQ Zuckas for Epic..

".. if crew effects would assign stress tokens to an epic ship, assign ion tokens instead. .."

I think that would solve the question.
