What's Your Preferred Armor?

By fist, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Man, I want the crafting results you guys are getting. 2 Triumphs and 10+ advantage to start with integrated attachment and extra soak/defense/hard points is awesome. My Armorer currently has two sets of self-crafted armor - her everyday wear is Reinforced Clothing with the Increased melee/Ranged defense and Increased Soak results with an automatic advantage in Negotiation (she was introduced as an arms dealer). Her "combat armor" is Deflective Armor with Increased Melee & Ranged defense, Increased Soak, and Sealable, with the Superior Armor modification installed and Vacuum Seals added via Tinker. Even though she has both schematics down to Simple, I've never managed to roll 2+ Triumphs AND a bushel of Advantages in a crafting check to get the awesome armor builds listed in this thread.

You've already told me the dofficulty, let me know every combination of triumph and advantage required for your desired upgrades, your dice pool (including any boost from equipment or helpers), and I will run my Matlab program to generate a percentile table for you. Any attempt that ishe nother a suuficient result wI'll rolla over triumph and advantage to get boosts/upgrades in the next attempt, until you succeed. I'll figure out whether it is better to roll over triumph to get upgrades or boosts (if you really really need triumphs upgrades a better, otherwise boosts are) . A percentile roll against the table will tell you the number of attempts, the number of bog standard suits you succeeded at making along the way (which can be sold for materials cost I think, but "failed" attempts can't).

You just keep making prototypes until you get the result you want. Our astromech is working since 6 months on her dream armor, so far no luck, and Sil 0 powered armor is certainly not the thing you can sell easily to compensate for your material investments. It's easier when you are human and can at least claim that armor can be adjusted easily enough to most species in the galaxy. :D

Oh, as time and funds permit, she will be working to improve her craft. But she likes to get out of the ship every once in a while, and the fact that she's the toughest member of the team right now when wearing her combat armor means that she is often in the thick of the battle. :)

She just got access to a suit of heavy battle armor to take apart so that she can learn how to build segmented armor. :D

Well, she needed 6 month ingame and table time for three tries ^_^
