Criticism appreciated

By DrakonLord, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So i just made a new rebel list, i only have acess to the core set, an assault frigate MK2 with its title cards only and a rebel fighters 1 pack.

Any critisism on the objectives and upgrades will be welcome. The person who i usually play always goes with 400 or 399 point fleets so i am making a bid to go first.

The cr90 is suppost to operate out on its own by going around the back of the enemy ships while the assault frigate and neb-b will provide support for the bomber/fighter ball

The enemy fleet will have a interdictor, victory, raider and some squadrons from imperial fighter 2 but i dont know the specifics.

Spelling and tactics

You have a lot of really good squadrons, and a Nebulon, but you aren't using Yavaris?

Drop Enhanced Armament and Defense Liason. Between the two you can toss Yavaris, Flight Commander, and Fighter Coordination Teams on Yavaris, and it's a killer combo. Especially if you swap Luke out for Nora Wexley.

If i had the upgrade cards and squadrons to do so i would, but remember i said

The core set doesn't have Yavaris, i only have the title cards (paragon and gallant haven) from the assault frigate Mk2 expansion pack and i dont have the rogues and villains pack.

Thanks for the advice but i dont have any of the upgrade and title cards i need to switch it out at the moment :'(

OK, sorry I missed that. The squads I mentioned are all from the Campaign set, which will also give you some objectives you might like.

I'd say if you're going with Dodanna/Dodanna's Pride you should switch that CR90 to a CR90B. This will maximize your chances of getting his effect to go off. It will also pair much better with Most Wanted due to the lower base cost.

I'd also recommend switching the AF2 to the B model to get the bonus squadron commands, and also save points.

Fleet Ambush can go very wrong if your opponent likes initiative, especially with a big fighter ball available for him to deploy. I'd suggest replacing it with Contested Outpost, use your squadrons to seeing the door shut on him as he drives for the outpost.

K thanks a lot with the objective advice, im still quite new to armada so choosing objectives for me can be a bit iffy cause i dont have enough experience with playing objectives.

I mainly put dodonnas pride on the cr90 as a just in case kind of deal, im not banking on him to work so if i need points for whatever reason dodonnas pride would be the first thing im getting rid of

The squadron command bonus is a fair point, but at the same time i want the anti squadron of two blue die, depending on what squadrons my friend chooses when we next play i will go with the one that works better.

I should find out the specifics of the fleet im playing against tonight/tomorrow so i will post it sometime tomorrow :D

The general strategy of my opponent for reference is to start the vic and the dic side by side with the raider in the middle to stop/ discourage bombing runs.

The defense liaison doesn't make sense on the corvette. But Leia might.

And if you won't be using the MKII-B, then Expanded hangar bays can help out a lot. So if you're going to drop Dodonnas Pride, then pick up hangar bays.

If you're going to plan on maybe needing to use repair commands, then you may as well drop the engineering teams on the corvette and put in redemption. For another 3 points, you get engineering teams for the whole fleet.

Yes i realised that about defense liason on the cr90 and removed it last night, i took your advice and put expanded hanger bays on the AF2.

I have defense liason on the AF because my regular opponent has the annoying habit of slowing down my Af by a lot not because i think i will need to repair haha

Here is my revised list so far

Im happy with the fleet as it is now but if there are any glaring mistakes feel free to point them out :)

I havent taken dodonnas pride off the cr90 yet because knowing my opponent he will have 399 or a full 400 point fleet

Adar Tallon! He is highly potent as he will let Wedge or Luke activate twice! Luke can kill an ISD by his own if activated twice a turn and gets a little luck!

Does it make sense to have an assault frigate A with expanded hangers?

Thanks for the advice Ginkapo, however i do not have Adar Tallon, i would of gone with Af 2 b, but i want the anti squad of the Af 2 A (and to be honest i can afford it with the current fleet, hopefully sometime this week i will get another ship expansion pack and wont be quite so restricted)

In line with my last comment, what small-medium base ship do you guys think would be most benefitial to get? I am thinking along the lines of a Mc30c but i would like to hear your opinions- whatever i get will most probably replace the Neb-B in this list (unless its a flotilla ;) )

Adar comes in the assault frigate expansion. You should have him.

Either you want an mc80 or an mc30. You would benefit greatly from a rogues and villains pack once you have another ship to.

I got the assault frigate as a gift from one of the only imperial players I regularly play against, he kept all the upgrade cards, I don't know what he did with Adar, but I got the title cards.

I added the bolding just now. Maybe I should of said the Assault frigate Mk2 without Adar :)

I will keep a lookout for the rogues and villains pack, but yeah I think I will go for a Mc30c :)
