Sparrowhawk Grey - IC

By keshalyi, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

Shard hides the barb like hair pin in the folds of his greyish rags. He fondles the two Bobby pins before scrapping the plastic off the ends of each essentially leaving two bent pieces of metal wire.

Here goes nothing...

Looking around to make sure no one was around to witness his success or failure he proceeded.

He finds a small gap in the shockcuff's housing where he imagined the battery and power supply to be. He stuck both pins in hoping to dislodge the wires that carried the power from the supply to the shock emitters.

Gerst narrows his eyes, processing the information. Then he casts a glance back at Echo, looking to see how his comrade was taking the ribbing.

Nir calmly walked through the security doors into this secure antechamber, the high ceilings and slick floor giving a feeling of grandeur even in this commercial environment. The lack of any real decoration was the giveaway that this room was all purpose and no ceremony. Light flooded in through a large skylight right above the security scanner. With careful subtlety Nir keyed his comlink before pretending to have a simple conversation with Galla "Nice skylight above the security scaner, someone has money to spend on window cleaners don't they! Hate those things myself, i always feel like someone is watching me from above..." Where there is one skylight there is oftern many, I only hope Gerst and Echo get the message, the back door isnt their only way to enter

Taking his time, Nir moves calmly to the wall for inspection, their Twi'Lek friend next to him looking very anxious. That guard has a stun stick on his belt, that could be handy... ooh and a blaster hanging on a short holster under his jacket. The rest of the guards probably have the same gear, well at least we can get something quick if the need arrises. Nir nods in the direction of the guard, indicating their load out to Galla, she was a cunning one she would work out what he was thinking too. But taking a weapon isnt always the easiest of tasks, those metal chairs look heavy enough to brain someone with, or at least keep them off you for a while even if they would be poorly weighted.

The security barrier in the middle of the room had a bypass to one side, unlocked by a button on the far side of the room, that could prove to be a quick escape path later on if things turn bad. The typical open doorway in the center with a body scanner was clearly active and the table on the other side of the room had a variety of scanning devices set out on it. Most of them he recognised, they where all used for examining bags and other personal belongings, good thing we have ours well concealed, I sure hope Galla didn't decide to pack anything extra...

So, what about these guards? Nir thought to himself as he waited for the inspections to occur. The head guard isn't paying much attention is he, those two near him just keep cracking wise jokes and laughing... his eyes are even on his data pad more than the room. The guard is so relaxed he turns the datapad to show his buddies the -23 he just scored, he's playing sabacc in the middle of a shift! But closer to the group there is one guard who is paying attention- in fact she's downright jumpy. That uniform is carefully pressed and spotless, she's either the new kid or extremely anal retentive, Not a good mix with this anxious Twi'Lek next to me if we ever want to get through this dam checkpoint. Nir starts to think of ways to keep the two apart, no use causing a fuss on such a fine morning.

Echo stared at the guards, startled that they had interpreted it that way, but then he rarely understood what humans found funny. After the surprise wore off he regathered himself, and spoke in his heavily accented basic "Told you that one would be a good opener." he told Gerst. Then turning towards the guards "If one of you could show us which entrance gets us where we need to go, we'll let you get back to work."

Without his previous experience the guards might have been able to read his facial expression, but then again probably not, they didn't seem particularly adept at reading alien expressions. Part of him just wished that he had his "trash-can-lid hat" so he could demonstrate to them just how "stupid" it was.
