The new playmat is allegedly available now.

Very nice!

Still waiting on the last one in the UK

Me too.

until either they release these simultaneously or prior to changing the map or I get way more serious about competition, they'll never get me to purchase one of these, I just don't see the point, especially for the cost.

Yeah if you're not playing in tournaments or playing skirmish all the time, they're probably not worth it.

I love them

I asked the owner of my LGS how many he had sold so far, he said none. He bought the first three, two of which I think are out of rotation now?

I am his target customer and I just have zero interest in it, even now that my collection is complete and I've got extra money to burn. I'd rather spend it on another game. Still wish they went with a cheaper printed map version. I'd rather give FFG my money than Staples :)

Yeah the timing of when they initially brought these out was odd. Before the original 3 hit stores up here in Canada the first one was exiting rotation (Training Ground). I already had Nelvanian from a printed version so I didn't feel the need to buy that one especially with our next Regionals not until February at the time. Now that Nelvanian is out of rotation I'll buy maps as they come out to keep current. I like the quality of them and they lay out so much nicer then the rolled up printed maps do and the time they save for set up just takes that little bit of stress out of a tournament that it's a little easier to prepare for the match at hand.

I got mine a couple weeks ago. I've really enjoyed the quality of it.

There's no question that the quality is excellent. Really, would we expect anything less than top quality components from FFG?

But IMHO, I think it's just more than is really needed. A simple $10-15 printed map on Vinyl or even on good paper would've been more than enough, especially since these maps are virtually useless once they rotate out of the tournament map list.

Yeah I'm pretty sure this has been thoroughly debated already, there's ONLY ONE reason people would buy them: to cut down the setup time in competitive tournament scenes where every minute counts (even that, you can bring your own map tiles & it'll take 3~5min to setup so it's not really needed anyway)

They're good, whether or not it's worth the $$ is an entirely different story
