If memory serves right the full game is on 4'x6'.
It will be 3x6 feet.
In this article it says 3'x6', and also has links to some of the deployment scenarios cards that affect what size of deployment zone you will have. Looks like a standard WH table setup will give plenty of room to play the game AND place our cards.

and for those who want it in centimeters : 91,4*182.9
or if we round up and talk in meters : 1mx2m

You may want a slightly larger playing space though if you don't want cards and upgrades and such to be in the playable area. That's for all those of you buying a new table especially for this game
3'x6' is pretty nice. I'm fully expecting to see official neoprene mats for Runewars at some point. They might be 3'x3' with two needed for a full table. There are official 3'x3' neoprene "space" mats for X-Wing, with Armada simply using two to achieve a 3'x6' playing space. I would happily buy neoprene mats with nice grassy field artwork.
it's 3'x6' this size was chosen so that you can play this game at home on a dining room table, since 4x6, which most miniatures games use, is too big for easy play

Ah, I did have a feeling that was the case!
I know its sometimes hard to find good products on the Internets, so I took a leap of faith and ordered a 3x6 mat just for Runewars from http://www.deepcutstudio.com/ . Most of their 3x6 mats are space themed for Armada, but you can get any of their textures in a custom size for an affordable price.
They make their mats in three materials, but I would recommend the "mouse pad" version. It is a thin, mouse pad like material that rolls up very nicely and has high definition texture. I bought the pad last month and have been working on my basing techniques for my terrain and test miniatures to match the texture on it, so that I can have a cool set up at home for this game.
It took a while to get in, because it is overseas for the U.S., but overall I was pleased with the experience and the mat quality is really good. If you want something special for the start of the runewars game, I recommend checking them out. It can also give you ideas as to how to base your figures.
let us know how good it is in person Oloh!

what did that mat end up running you?
It was $100 shipped, which included a carrying case. On eBay, you can get Armada pre-made mats for $75 bucks shipped without a carrying case. This one is custom because its the only fantasy game on 3x6, and you get to pick from a large number of textures, so I think the extra $25 is reasonable. I'm sure if the game takes off, the price will come down because you wont have to do custom.
I have the mat in hand and the quality is good, so I wouldn't worry about whether or not the company is actually legit (they were for me) or if the product sucks (it doesn't). Overall, I recommend.

Oooh nice!
What's the print quality like? I have a couple from Kraken Matts that are pretty good.
Nothing quite like rolling dice on those neoprene surfaces, it's very satisfying.
I'm gonna hold off on a mat just because one absolutely must be coming from FFG. They keep dropping new skirmish maps for Imperial Assault and I can't see them not putting out a map for this, perhaps even as early as late this year. I've got a big enough table (barely) for 6x3, I'll just tape off some borders with painters tape for now
