Thanks for voting!

Let me know if the link-to-submission format is very annoying to you. For me, this format is a lot easier since google forms is a bit clunky to add lots of images to.

Voted! All packs had something good, but I saved my +1s for the real standouts that had few if any duds instead of only a few solid cards.

PS: I wish we could merge the Rogue Veterans and the Veterans of the Rebellion (EDIT: and other X-Wing/Y-Wing expansions)... so much good stuff.

When does revisions on the selected expansion start/end?

I use my Google account very very seldomly. Cannot login at the moment, unfortunately, doesn't work.

Revision period starts now! The votes are in and the top expansions in each category are:

Rogue Veterans .eon files

and

N-1 Starfighter .eon files

Congrats to Razgriz and Odanan, who authored these entries!

Everyone has two weeks to discuss these packs, come up with revised versions of the packs, and submit those revised expansions to me at [email protected]. Then we'll have another vote, and go from there.

Thanks to everyone who voted! We had a great vote turnout. I hope to see a good amount of revised expansions!

Nice work. Now to improve.

Rogue Veterans:

Blue Squadron Ace: +2PS and an EPT for 1 point over Red Squadron is a bit much, to me. I know the X-Wing is lacking at the moment, but it makes it difficult to fix properly if the ships don't occupy a similar scale. That said, I really like the idea of running 4 of these guys with a 1-point Astro and 0-point EPT. I'd just rather they did it at PS5.

Jaldine Gerams: Not bad. You're giving up a lot, but you'll have no modifiers... except that Rebels excel at sharing actions and stuff. M9-G8 on a wingmate anyone? Especially nice that you can use her ability after a K-turn. I like this one as-is.

General Merrick: Great ability, pairs well with Predator and the like. Sadly, yet another reason to run Biggs, tough.

Partisan X-Wing: Theme and execution implemented well. Amusing that Unhinged Astromech would give green 3 and 1 banks, but not 2s.

T-65C-A2 X-Wing: Not a huge fan of this one. Nothing wrong with it per-se, and I understand that it's trying to improve/add maneuvers to the dial, but it also adds reactionary ability to higher pilot skills. Probably not overly concerning with just a choice between 1 banks and hards, but it just doesn't impress me, either.

Gold Squadron Veteran: Poor Horton. At least he's PS5 instead of the BSA's 6. Can't complain about this one.

Brace Marko: Nullifying all defensive modifications is brutal. However, the opponent is somewhat compensated, there are already ways to do similar things, and it's all but required in the days of X7 Defenders. Give him ways to modify both rolls, and he'll have a very accurate TLT.

Evaan Verlaine: Also good at the TLT. Hello, Marksmanship! I also like that both Y-Wing pilots make a strong case for Torpedoes as well, especially Protons.

R2-A7: Seems pretty mediocre. Crappy PtL for EPT-less pilots. Don't know if he's bad, but I don't think he's very good, either.

R8 Astromech: Now this I like. Very simple defensive boost that seems appropriately costed. Along with Integrated Astromech, a nice cheap way to boost the X-Wing's survivability, and not necessarily bad on a Y-Wing, either.

R4-M4: Again with the stress mechanics. Always been slightly annoyed that multiple Missiles let you keep your TL but no Torpedoes do.

R3-B2: I don't think I would ever run this guy. Maybe at 0 points. His effect is just far too situational, and that's assuming a stress would even be preferred to an ion or tractor at the time.

Hey i won! Wow, i really didn't expect that at all. There were so many amazing submissions to the Aces category that i expected my T-Wing to have a better chance of being voted in. Thanks so much to everyone who voted for Rogue Veterans! It does mean a lot to me.

So lemme give some responses to these and lets see where we can get in making Rogue Veterans the best it can possibly be.

Making the BSA's 24 points and PS6 was a difficult decision to make; 25 points would be cost more in line with the rest of the X-Wing's pilots, but it would not allow for even 4 at once if you wanted any upgrades. I figure that 24 points really only allows for a 1 point astromech and IA, along with the T-65C-A2 title. The PS6 was knowing that when Imperials get a ship fixed, they get a very aggressively cost PS6 generic. I found it only fair, in my opinion, to do the same for the X-Wing. I didn't want to cut it out of a role it could perform for no reason, and, knowing that T-65s are overcost anyways, i really do believe that it won't end up mattering too much.

Yep, Jaldine is a pilot you find a way to give mods and throw them at Aces or other tough, token'd up targets.

True. I feel the ability is thematic, because we see Merrick clear a squadronmate's six at Scarif in such a manner. I don't really think there's a way to keep the heart of the ability without working well with Biggs, so unfortunately i'll just have to deal with it.

My thing about the T-65 is that i've always hated that it can't do speed-1 turns. The lack of those and any other post-maneuver movements completely gimps it's ability to chase slippery targets. Adding those turns, and, in such a way that you have a choice of 1 bank or 1 hards(which is done in such a way that R2 Astromech does not make them green), makes them more agile but not dangerously so, only what would be fitting for an X-Wing. That, and those turns won't activate Adv. Etheric Rudder. Perhaps the title could do more stuff or just do what it does better, though. I'll explore some options with it.

That, and Brace is a meager PS3 with no EPT. It's not exactly super difficult to kill a Y-Wing, which is why for the most part i'm not super worried about powerful abilities on them.

Yep, these Y-Wing pilots were designed with Torps in mind and then adjusted to make them good with turrets even when the torps are spent.

I dunno, i like R2-A7. I think it's a little more than just PTL, cause you can stock tokens until you really need them, and most importantly they can't be taken away from you by various abilities like hotshot copilot and such. That and it's cheaper, too. Plus, if you have ways of removing stress, like Nien Nunb for example, technically Nien can spend and then recover a token infinitely as long as he's within range of an enemy ship. But i'll ask anyways, what could i do to make R2-A7 better, but still be 2 points?

yeah i won't lie R3-B2 was an idea i had that i didn't really think too hard about. He'll get mega changed, don't worry.

Wait, where's Adv. Etheric Rudder? I sent that in my submission, and i'm pretty sure it was in the vote, right? It's in the google drive for the .eon files.
