CC: Jerjerrod Arquitens List

By Democratus, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Gave this list a trial run last night and am thinking about taking into the next campaign (which starts tomorrow).

Thought is to use the Gladiator as a pseudo-carrier and possibly squadron defense in later turns. I do not have access to the Demolisher title. The squadrons are there to hold off bombers. The Lambdas to manipulate objective tokens.

The objectives are selected to serve the nature of the Arquitens. But without Vader I worry that offense will be weak.

Any advice/observations/nerdy jibes are appreciated.

I would drop H9s in favor of DTT. because you would need to roll 3 damage dealing sides for it to be truly useful. Also have you considered Centicore? Also SFO on Arquitens are useful too. Oh and Opening Salvo would be a good objective for Arqs too. I don't think that Close-Range-Intel scan along with your current list will prevent ships from closing the distance on your Arqs. I have been playing them for my own campaign as well.

I can only have so many cards on these ships in the first turn! :D

I do plan to add the Centicore title in the future. And I was either going to do SFO or Intel Officer for my officer slots.

I'm also considering swapping out the Gladiator for an Arquitens Command Cruiser. Same Squadron value, but no Flight Controllers.

I'm torn on H9 vs. DTT. Flotillas/MC30s are a huge part of the Rebel fleet and I need accuracies to hurt them. I also thought maybe Close-Range-Intel scan with H9 would give me free points when my attack roll is poor.

All 3 enemy Rebel lists are "charge into your face" lists. So I'm not sure anything could prevent them from closing distance.

Do you find that DTTs give you enough accuracies on average to land damage on Evade-equipped ships?

Thanks for your assistance. I have very little experience with Arquitens as of yet.

Okay. So if I made the changes TallGiraffe mentioned it would look like this.

Since I no longer have guaranteed accuracies I changed to Opening Salvo for my red objective.

I have 10 free points from swapping out the H9s for DTTs. I could give 2 of my Arquitens Enhanced Armament instead. Or I could upgrade 2 of them to command variant (for the Support Team)?

Appreciate the help from the community. I'm very nervous about taking an Imperial list with only small ships.

Well I put only in one are a h9 to hunt flotillas, the others are ok. Change Jerry to another ship, gladi would be at short range and easy to kill I think

I was wondering about the Gladiator. I've been flying it in the back as a carrier -using the Lambda's to take it's squadron commands. Since it isn't Demo I wasn't going to trick it out as anti-ship. Maybe anti-squadron with Kallus?

Or I could just replace it with another Arquitens CC (same Squadron rating)?

I like the idea of keeping an H9 on one of them for flotilla sniping.

Here is my own fleet as I played my campaign. Note I did not have demo initially. Originally I had 2 Gozantis, 3 cruisers, and a raider. I don't feel that the Command cruiser is that big of an improvement though if your using it to push squadrons then that is fine. JJ allows you the maneuverability at speed 2 to not worry about nav commands. Though you are probably going to want to nav most of the time with your cruisers or CF when you have the chance (Nebula Outskirts is fun with Arqs)

I would keep the glad in as a close range deterrent. Suppressor (The gozanti title) also makes getting close to the fleet more hazardous. Though I think having 2 lambdas leaves your squadron value lacking in both anti ship, and anti squadron firepower. Don't be afraid to keep your gozantis closer on the frontlines when you can use them as obstructions for enemy fire or prevent enemy movement with them. A 12 point repair bill is worth it if you prevent a MC-30 from getting to close range for a turn or two.

Also Valen Rudor is Good and so is Morna Kee as she can decimate ships and squadrons alike with her reroll ability.

Very cool list! I like the synergy between the Raider and the squadrons for screening bombers - and how your screen is not too shabby at bombing in a pinch.

I'll never be able to have Demo (or any Raider or Gozanti title) as those are taken by my teammates. So I'm thinking I should just replace the Gladiator with another Gozanti (same Squadron value) and add a few squadrons to make up for the points.

How did Opening Salvo work out for you? I worry that it will give the Sato player an extra 2 black dice with every opening attack. Painful when driving only small ships.

No one ever is dumb enough to pick it lol.

Also bear in mind I am playing the Worlds runner up and equivalent players all the time. XD

Opening Salvo doesn't work that way.

Its his Opening Salvo, so he will be Player 2, and it is being picked by a Player 1 Sato.

The Additional Dice added due to opening Salvo are added . In which, they use the add keyword, so they are done post the Sato Changeover, and thus, for a 1st Player, they will only Ever be Red.

So if their opening attack is, say, 2 Red (A Pelta at Long Range). They can take those 2 Red, and make them 2 Black... But when they discard their Objective Token and add the 2 Red Dice, those Red Dice stay Red Dice. There is no ability to Change them.

Cool. Gotcha!

Thanks for straightening me out.

I think this will be my final revision of the list.

Points : 400/400

Commander : Moff Jerjerrod

Objectives : Opening Salvo / Fire Lanes / Intel Sweep (or Dangerous Territory)

Ships:

  • Arquitens : Hand of Justice, Moff Jerjerrod
  • Arquitens : TRC

  • Arquitens : Enhanced Armament
  • Gozanti : Expanded Hangar Bay

Squadrons:

  • Marek Steele
  • Zertik Strom
  • Bossk
  • Tempest Squadron
  • 2x Lamda Shuttle

Hopefully a decent screen to delay the BiggsBall I know is coming. A pile of modified dice for attacking. The Lambda for squadron commands and Fire Lanes tokens. And Jerjerrod to help me change course without spamming maneuver tokens.

In the future I'll drop Needa on the TRC and Skilled First Officer on the EA Arquitens. Add a second Gozanti and put RBD on all the cruisers.

Here's hoping I don't get stomped! :D

Thanks for the help, all.

Had a great time at my first tournament and even managed to eke into the top half of the pack (at a tournament of 6 players).

At the last minute I did some changes, ending up with 3 Arquitens (DTT/RBD) and 2 Gozanti. I was surprised at how tough an Arquitens can be with RBD!

A big thanks to the folks at Alamo City Fleet Command who organized the tournament and helped me learn a thing or two!
