I Present to You: The Unshootable bomber

By So Crates, in X-Wing

No,no,no; you misunderstand.

You store the mines inside the cockpit next to you, and you or your co-conspirator physically tosses them out of the open-to space crew hatch. I have seen sillier ideas actually carried out in WW2 and Cold War weapons tests. If you can send a pod with a monkey into space, then by golly you can throw this mine at them; no inertia, no weight, no problem.

(Inertial dampeners are standard on Star Wars ships.)

So the crew tosses the bomb through the hatch you have to keep closed beceause you have no life support equipment?
And where do you find the space for 2 persons + bombs on a 1-person fighter like the ln?

You forget that captured tie is a mod, which means that you can collect it with your crane...

Well, if that is your plan you obviously would put on pressurized equipment...and space you find in the very roomy cockpit, as an old school star wars fan like you surely would know from looking at the original sets.

Yup, there's none for space bombs.

Ok, I know that Sabine's Tie is a mess lore-wise, but come on, this is a game in which Boba Fett (crew) can make the Outrider not the Outrider anymore. He can steal Palpatine off of his shuttle. A lowly Moff Jerjerrod can chuck the Emperor of the Galactic Empire out the airlock if he so chooses. Like FGD always says gameplay > lore, just try not to think about it / don't play it if it bothers you.

Just a thought, Bombs could be strapped to the external frame and remotely released and detonated.

I want this for Trolling everyone with! i love bombs, funny business and Shenanigans. (trolling Chopper VCX is great fun!)

i'd stick on reveal bombs on there though rather than mines.

Up to a certain limit, which has been here atomized by a thing that should have been, at best, a, April's fool joke.
And anyway, this "stolen tie" thing is as dumb in terms of gameplay as in terms of fluff.

It is great in terms of gameplay, actually. At least in my opinion, so we can just leave it at debateable.

And I don't know the volume of a space bomb, so I'll just assume it can be stuffed into the cockpit area. Sabine will have to snuggle with them, but she won't mind with her love for explosives I am sure.

If you can't shoot it, kill it with bombs!

Mines have been around for ages and have never truly been effective without better bomb dropping options offered by SLAM or Pilot Abilites.

What? I don't know what you are talking about. I recall in my Store Championship a few years ago that I destroyed 3 out of 5 enemy ships with a few Bombs in one round. It was a very quick game. I know lots of people that have used bombs to good effect without Adv SLAM or character ability.

The real question is, can Ashoka spend the focus to make herself drop the cluster mines at the beggining of combat?

Yes, she can, there's no question of this.

"Rebels" is ****. I don't know why this game features a stupid 7yo kids show, especially when it ***** SW fluff all around.
Crew in a tiny TIE/ln cockpit? Without life support suit? And where is Sabine throwing bombs from in that thing ?!
Both the episode and the game mechanic added for this "stolen TIE" are a nonsense.
As a player liking cinematic play (I try to build thematic squads that have some coherence in the universe, hence why play a SW game?), I know I would feel sorry to see that thing on my gaming table.

You're probably going to see a fair amount of Captain Rex and Ahsoka if you play tournaments, sooo...

The Apollo 11 astronauts dropped small satellites from the command module while they were orbiting the moon to map the variable surface density. So yeah, precedent from real world space travel.

Also this; all of these cards are abstractions of scenarios in the SW universe.

I have no issue with the bomb slot really. If Sabine can put an extra bomb on a K-Wing or rig one up on the Phantom, she could definitely put a little rack on the TIE that drops a bomb with a remote.

It isn't like she has to be out there with a bomb in her hands! "When I say go, be ready to throw!"

I always assumed Sabine was just opening a hatch and chucking the explosive out into space. TIE Fighters have no life support and aren't pressurized.

My variant of this uses thermal detonators and black market slicing tools instead of the mines and crane. You don't need to fly in front of the opponent that way, and you can do damage after dropping the bomb, so long as you have other ways of dealing stress!

Of course, this is where I usually note I'm not a competitive player, so take my ideas with a rather large grain of salt

technically it wouldnt be that hard to just strap the mine to the outside of the TIE and remotely detach it. It probably wouldnt be very accurate since it doesnt have a deploy chute to guide it but it would work since nobody would expect a TIE to suddenly drop a deuce as they turn away from a head on fight with you.

Also, Captured TIE only prevents being declared an attack. You can still feedback, tractor array, bomb, or Oicunn bump it.

im actually tempted to bring 3 feedbacks just so i can spike her dead. Will i win that fight? hell no but it'd be funny lol

I'm going back and forth between feedback array and EMP with my Bodhi middle list.
