Hmm...lack of news?

I am not sure if you are serious, but this is very old news.
IA products can not be sold via the FFG website. Most of us suspect that this is because of licencing arrangements with Hasbro. You could not order any IA product directly from the FFG site in at least 2 years (I think they were up until Jan. 2014, but can't remember).

Well, it has been almost 2 months since the previous one, so I guess it was due. :D

Ok new with this game still and panicked when I noticed the above, but as somebody says, this isnt a concern is it?

Nothing been for sale on FFG site for 2 years...so its just a case of business as usual and things will carry on with existing and new products available online through whatever outlets I have purchased from this month since I discovered this game? Just that FFG cant sell directly off its site?

Yeah, IA has never been directly sold from FFG to the consumer via this site (as far as I know).

I don't have the pleasure of having a FLGS anywhere near me, so I got Waves 1-5 via Amazon, and 6-8 via CoolStuff Inc and Miniature Market. Every once and a while a blister or Expansion Box will fall out of circulation and need a reprint, but FFG typically does a good job of reprinting their products that are still active, and IA is no exception.

Destiny with some news today.. we are due! This is our Friday!

Some might even say it is our... Destiny.

Since the FAQ for Xwing apparently changed up the rules significantly (?) for them, do you think there's any chance we'll see the same for IA? From what little I've gleaned (I don't play the game, so I haven't looked into it too much), the XWing FAQ changed the costs of several units that were dominant. Could we ever see the same cost changes en masse for IA? Obviously they haven't done it yet, but is there still hope that they could?

The X-Wing change didn't change the costs of the cards but rather nerfed the abilities a bit. I'd say it's pretty much analogous to what we saw after wave 1 in IA when they errata'd the Royal Guards, Sabs and Officers.

As far as cost changes, I don't play X-Wing (so someone else can probably answer this better) but I know in the past they've included at least one upgrade card with a negative point-cost in order to make a previously unplayed ship viable. They've kind of gone this route already with IG-88, using a skirmish upgrade to fix a card. Whether or not they ever include a negative point cost like this I don't know, but I suspect that any future updates to the early overcosted characters will either be done this way or by just releasing a new version of the character somewhere down the line.

For full on point changes, I would really like it if FFG just printed new cards reflecting the change. The tournament prize cards update a couple of the cards already and that makes it very easy to track the changes.

I am new to X-Wing but from what I understand those fixes were meant to shake up the meta. The Manaroo builds seemed to be heading the same direction as 4x4, not quite as bad but still severe. My local regionals had he same build for the top 10 and 25/38 players were flying a very, very similar scum list. They took a very strong ability that she could do anywhere on the map and changed it to range 1, which for comparison in IA is the equivalent of being adjacent.

The other fixes are also just necessary nerfs to try and open the meta back up. I wouldn't say that IA's meta is broken right now.. definitely skewed towards Jabba/Jedi Luke.. but there are at least viable options for all three factions.

But someone who knows more about it can shed some light. I've got my first tourney this weekend and I fully expect to get lit up :) But also learn a lot.

They did update the text for new prints of the core box

Eventually I'd like to see a conversion kit if they ever make more of those kind of changes to other figures (or add skirmish versions of some of the early uniques)

They did it with Descent and there was a conversion kit for MoM too when it went to 2nd Ed

Updates for new players helps, but yes, a conversion kit would be great.

Yeah, I honestly really dislike these changes for this reason. If the game as sold is no longer applicable, at least give us updated cards in the next boxed release.

I sure wish my saboteurs and commanders and guardsmen were updated when I bought my core.

Also, let's get some news on a new small box at least, please!
