Can anyone explain?

By iamzoner, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I'm watching world tournaments to learn. I was just watching a match between a decimator/phantom against 2 falcons.

Decimator bumps into a falcon on it's move. Falcon moves after it's bumped and no ships are touching now. But now the deci and falcon that bumped are shooting at each other? Am I missing something here? I thought that ships that bump can not attack each other for the round? Is it based on bumping or is it only if ships are touching after the end of the activation phase when attacks are not allowed?

You can't shoot a ship you are touching but bumping isn't always the same thing as touching. You have to bump into a ship to end up touching it, but as in the case you mentioned the one ship moved after the fact so they are no longer touching.

If the bases are touching AFTER All Movement is completed then there's no attacks unless some a card ability allows it.

Just noticed that! Hell, everything slows down when you older. Even the grey cells.

The reason for the title is that you got it when there was a window to select your own titles.

But yea, you need to "bump" to set up a Touching situation but the no-attack clause only applies WHILE two ships are touching. There may be a time when a ship can execute it's maneuver, perform an Action, and yet remain "touching" a ship from an overlap that happened the previous turn.

True, it's not an officially granted title or anything. But when we could set custom titles I had ninja'ed like 5 answers in a row so it seemed appropriate.

I'm still gutted that I missed out on being able to choose a title by mere hours. Still, can't be as bad as Cubanboy with " Pending Forum Submission ". He thought he'd get some ideas from other members, then it got frozen. :)
