VCX without the turret?

Silly question, but I haven't used the VCX often; can you fire the torpedoes fore AND aft, or just aft?

You can fire front and rear. the Rear arc is torps only unless you have the phantom docked.

I'll be playing today against a Dengar/guri list. lots of greens on Dengar and K4

Thanks mate. Not sure I would fire forward when I have that lovely 4 dice primary, I'd rather keep the threat of a rear shot, but it's worth checking.

Just to say, if they were Mindlinked then he's running something pretty close to possibly the best list in the world right now. Bobatanni is not that much worse than Paratanni, and Kath isn't that much worse than Boba.

well, Guri went down in Flames early.

I didn't shoot dengar on one turn as didn't fancy the retaliation shot. i then couldn't catch him in arc. i think i'd have fared better with Recon spec and TLT and dropped gunner.

ah well, i'm dreaming up a Scummy list to look at removing Dengar quickly now.

I don't own a VCX, but I like the toughts in this forum. I applaud anyone who doesn't put a TLT on their ship: kudos mate! Autoblaster (although functionally impossible, I've debated it to nauseous-ness on this forum, let's not dig it up) is a great choice.

But I love bunny-trails, and in that vein, I love this B-Wing build. I don't have a C3PO (no Tantive, even with all of heychadwick and the Tydirium crew's temptations, errrr, haha) but with a few changes, would be so very fun. It's a bit expensive, but maybe there is a way to fly him.

I think that Gunner on a ship with a 4 dice primary is not going to trigger often enough to be worth the points. Granted there will be times when you are shooting at something slippery but relatively few ships have the defensive mods to escape harm completely, especially as there will be no autothrusters at R1-2 either.

It will happen sometimes of course but not enough to make Gunner a reliable investment I think. They work better on fat turret ship I think.

He didn't trigger at all on the VCX really. My dice where hot though when i got a target!! lol

I don't run with gunner, but I will say that alllll too often the stupid x7 defenders walk away damage free from the 4 dice primary. Even assuming that I roll all 4 hits (which is a valid assumption, but not 100% of the time reality), they almost always have an evade + focus token + palpatine, so they have to roll 2+ blanks on their 3 dice in order to walk away damage free, or in otherwords, 75% of the time I won't hit. Now that being said, I would hardly expect someone to spend the evade token or palpatine in order to trigger gunner, but his presence on the ship still caused a damage that otherwise wouldn't have happened.

Yep, they were linked. Part of it was dice. Two proton torps couldn't take out Fenn. A bump on Fenn that failed by less than the thickness of a credit card that delivered 3 hits and 2 crits on Keyan with no return fire. But a lot was of it was bad anticipation on my part. The worst was getting stuck between Kath and Manaroo while skirting the edge of the board. No where to go. Lost 2 games to that build.

I did win one with 4 blue sqd T-70s vs OL, Pure Sabac, Backdraft and anothe Striker. My dice finally woke up. Didn't lose a ship.

Agreed. This looks super fun. It would be an amazing Kylo Shuttle (PS 6) Killer. I really would be torn between Avdanced sensors and FCS. Also torn between Nien Numb and Chopper. I think it would be super fun to come out of nowhere and do a 5 Kturn followed by a conner net. That covers a lot of ground!
