Evacuation of Hoth campaign

I'm getting around to playing the Hoth campaign that comes with the Rebel Transport. Does anyone have experience of the campaign and have any advice or avoid easy mistakes to make when interpreting the rules?

One thing in particular is energy on the transport. When we play Epic we fully power up our vessels but I've heard in the missions you don't but haven't seen that in the campaign rules.

Also regarding imperial reinforcements in missions H1 and H3. If a PS4 or higher ships is destroyed it's replaced with the cheapest pilot card of the same ship type. Does the replacement get to keep the upgrades of the original? If I took a TIE Bomber with ordnance or a TIE Advanced with title and system upgrade are they on the replacement? I'm leaning towards no but it does seem to restrict what an optimum list would be... just when I'm getting an appreciation for the TIE Advanced as well. :)
