CC map/guide error

By Archon Dan, in Star Wars: Armada

Just noticed tonight that there are two small errors between the map and campaign guide for two planets. Having reached a management phase after a battle occurred at Corfai, I noticed the map lists Corfai as worth +2 Campaign Points but the booklet says +1. I checked for other errors and found Talfaglio is worth +0 CP on the map but +1 in the booklet.

Having compared both to similar planets, my inclination is to go with the map over the campaign guide. However, this does favor my team. I've put it to those involved in the campaign to vote but I'm curious how others have handled this.

Surely, others have noticed Corfai, given its worth, even if they haven't noticed a backwater like Talfaglio.

I'd say the map is authoritative.

I think the book is likely correct - Corfai has no repair yards so is unlikely to be worth +2 CP. Then again Talfaglio has nothing either and only 6 resources so isn't likely to be worth +1 CP.

Entirely up to you I guess. We've gone with the guide as the ultimate authority fwiw.

Corfai has no special, but has the 2nd most resources in the game, so +2 could be warranted.

Talfaglio is a worthless system, no special, +6 resources. A +0 seems more reasonable.

My conclusion: the map is correct.

It's also the easiest route to go. Everything is there, on the map, and correct.

No way to prove it oc.

My guess: things changed during production, only they either forgot to fix changes in both places or the booklet had already been printed. Maybe the latter, bc there is also a reference to winning giving a minimum of 1 CP, when that's not the case. So I'm included to doubt the rules booklet :)

Thanks for the answers. Sounds like our group is going to go with the map for now.

I'd go with the Booklet.

The Booklet itself says that the map is a "Nice to have", but is totally unneccessary to actually play the game, as everything is tracked on the Team Sheets, utilising the Manual.

This. Dras has the right of it I think. The map is considered a helpful accessory, and that's all.

That said, as with so many other things with Corellian Conflict, you're playing with your mates. As long as you all agree, have fun!

I might make this a separate thread, but.....while we're in the mood: THINGS THAT ARE WEIRD ABOUT THE CC BOOKLET

I had two but can only think of one at the moment:

p8: Special Assaults. Second sentence has in brackets: see "Strategic Effects" on page 12

Can't for the life of me think of what this has to do with Special Assaults and why we'd want to 'see' that section.:P

Book trumps map. The map is a visual aid but in no way necessary to play the game.

this is a common use of the word telling the reader to reference that page and section.

Wow FFG. Okay we need a new FAQ.

The map is final, because that's the thing everyone gathers around and places tokens on.

Unless of course, you do as the Book says, and treat it as an unnecessary tool.

Who is doing that? Especially because the book says on pages 5, 6, 7, and 12 to use the map.

Even if you eschew the map like the book says you can on page 6, it says to keep it as a visual aid. So even if you're not using it for tracking, the book still says to use it.
