Homing Missles clarification

By Umber Hawk, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Card say "defender cannot spend evade tokens". Can the defender still count evade results rolled on dice against the attack, or does the term "evade tokens" refer to tokens and rolled dice results?

No, results are not Tokens. Your dice still work the same way, you just can't spend an Evade token to add a [zig] result to your roll.

Tokens are just that.

Spending the token may give you the equivalent of a die result but the token is in no way a die.

Ok thanks. I remember reading somewhere that tokens are considered the same thing as dice results, I just couldn't remember if dice results were also considered tokens. Thank you for clarifying.

What you get from spending an evade token becomes a dice result that can be modified and canceled in all of the same ways.

It used to not be like that. Evades from evade tokens were magical and different. It's much more straight forward to spend the token and then put out a green die with the evade results showing like the current rules have you do.

So then the other side of this, something like autoblaster. "Your hit results cannot be cancelled by defense dice". Since tokens are considered dice results, autoblaster would then include them as not being able to cancel hit results correct? so essentially nothing can defend against those hit results.

Exactly.

Yes.

This was not always the case however. For a time you COULD use Evade tokens to cancel the hit results from Autoblasters (after cancelling the crits of course in that case) or use it to cancel a crit from Ten Numb. The a FAQ came out and said the token gave you a die result to treat just like any other die.
