Wiki site?

By Willange, in Runewars Miniatures Game

I agree that the new site should be specific to this game and leave lore to the other site. Although maybe there could be a short paragraph of lore on the page that outlines a unit's statistics.

I put up the Daqan cards and the known upgrades for the core last night. Tonight I'm going to go ahead and work on a template for the other unit and upgrade pages just to make things more uniform. Just an FYI so we don't end up repeating work.

Oh, we should probably add the boons and banes to the wiki:

Inspiration

Spend from an ally when revealing command tool to remove one bane or to refresh one upgrade card. (I guess now we know where the exhaust upgrade card comes into play)

Blight

Spend from an enemy when it performs an attack to force it remove one die.

Immobolize (silly american spelling using Z's)

Spend from an enemy when it reveals a march or shift action to cancel that action.

Panic

Spend from an enemy to increase the severity of a morale test by one or to cause a morale test during an attack.

Stun

Spend from an enemy when it reveals it's command tool to cancel the modifier. (could be fun if the chance ever arrives to turn their wheeled march into a forward march placing them out of position)

Yeah, I've got that on my list as well. I'm thinking that along with the product pages I'll make reference pages for this kind of thing and units and upgrades that utilize a condition will link to said condition. Also I'm going to create faction pages which will link to units and upgrades the faction utilizes as well as the relevant products.

Keep the suggestions coming!

As well as showing the command wheel perhaps you could list the march orders (including modifiers). That way it will be really quick to check what distances and turning a unit can do for easy comparison.

That's a good idea! A table on each unit page would probably be appropriate.

I agree that lore should be a separate entity especially if it already exists as a wiki, other than the little lore fluff that will inevitably be about each of the expansions, I would say that should be put with each expansions page. I'm assuming this will not step on anyone at FFG's toes posting full card details and such, since every FFG game I play has deck or squad builders that have all the info on the cards there too, but It would be cool if FFG were to post somewhere here saying yay or nay...

Like they posted anything... I haven't read (but my experience is very delimited on these forums, I don't go everywhere) a single post from them excepted the first one to introduce the new subforum to the users... Moreover, entire websites outside on the web use cards scans to build databases of LCG so come on, we aren't talking about making business by reselling classified information hu ? :D

That's what I'm talking about, all the 3rd party sites post full cards and it always seems FFG doesn't care which is awesome, I remember using battle college for warmachine and they barely posted any information or would give summaries of info from cards. I doubt it was needed I just wanted to put the request out there.

I finally got my hands dirty and made some edits. I fleshed out the Dice Pack stub and added a page about Dice , including the list of die faces. I also added some pictures of the die symbols, though I'm not sure how to access them without uploading them every time I need them.

good job

@Budgernaut The way you do this is, when you're in the editor, you click the button for adding an image. Instead of then clicking the gigantic "Upload your image" button in the middle, use the search bar at the top of that little pop-up window. Then, just search the name of that image. Given that the image is the right size, you should then be able to add things like die symbols inline.

EDIT: For images we intend to use this way, you can also resize them when you add them, but it's best if they're the right size from the beginning. The big thing, I think, is that they need to have transparent backgrounds.

I downloaded the symbols from FFG, but they were black, so I used GIMP to make them white and shrunk them down before uploading them. After uploading each of them, I tried searching for them by name but they didn't show up. :/

Oh weird, they are showing up for me. Now I am having trouble getting them to go inline with my text (for the card text entries), but I'm sure with more time I'll figure it out soon.

Looks good so far. I did make one edit on the dice page. I removed the second sentence under morale that talked about detailing morale in a future preview. I also added a link in the cavalry and reanimate archers pages to their respective expansions.

Oh yeah, I suggest putting the link to the wiki in the original post.

Psssshhhh, who needs a link? (Yeah sorry I thought I had done that already :P)

I just checked out the wiki and noticed that the deployment cards listed in the preview article aren't up there. O would post them but am without a pc at the moment.

Yeah, I'm working on all that as I get time to. I've got the objectives and deployments up. I'll get terrain and token info (stun, panic, etc) up when I get a chance and go from there. I'm going to wait a day or two on the upgrades because I'm hoping that blogger can get us some clearer shots of a couple of them. If not, I'll just post what we have for now.

I've asked him, I will wait for his answer but honestly, @Willange I think you can go with what we have than delaying your action for something we are not sure to get...

Looking great so far. Thank you for putting this together.

Can someone please add a link to the wiki, Thank you!

Just found it. The OP should make it a hyperlink for ease of getting people to the site.

Think this thread needs a bump. ?
