Dude I'm not gonna debate my opinion, if you wanna use it, go ahead, good bye.
I have "No Disintegrations". Questions?
Whatever else is debate for, then? I wonder.
Any opinion is open for discussion; when it ceases to be, better call it dogma.

Whatever. I wasn't imposing my will on anyone in regards to whether they like the Obligation or trying to win an argument, anyone can feel free to use it. Not caring and not being interested in debating my own personal opinion is just that, again, I just don't care what anyone thinks. Telling someone their own opinion is dogma is kind of a goofy schizophrenic use of the word. The two of you can feel free to debate my opinion, I'll sit here and not care.

These include Encumbrance 5 boxes that can hold occupants up to Encumbrance 15 (so a little Tardis effect going on), which is generally 1-2 people. The people inside are put into stasis by the container, which also has independent power and life support. There really is no good reason not to.use these for secure prisoner transport.
I got the impression that the encumbrance of the specimen container was the encumbrance of just the container (walls, life support equipment, etc). I think the container and its contents count separately, 5 enc of container + 15 of contents = 20.
While it may not be magic cargo space, this could let one expand life support on the quick. Fill a YT-1300 with 8 of the large ones, gaining life support for 120 encumbrance of people at a cost of 1200 credits 40 enc. That's 12-24 people on top of usual passengers. No good for tourists and such, but during an evacuation it will at least keep people alive.

I believe that the official stance on a crate of rifles actually has a lower encumbrance than the rifles inside because it's easier to handle as in you can easily stack crates but you can't stack rifles. I can't cite a source on that statement but I do know that the official stance on the Jedi utility belt is that the belt and all the gear that comes with it count as zero encumbrance when it would be something like 8 just for the seperately purchased gear. Given this I believe that specimen boxes are magic boxes like all other boxes are.
Right. Encumbrance isn't just weight, it's also efficiency of transport.
