Hero Mill Decks Post-SoR

By dpb1298, in Star Wars: Destiny

In the current meta and card pool, Hero Mill is practically impossible. However, I think once SoR hits it will quickly become quite viable and perhaps even better than the Villain version. I'll be trying the following and think it will be quite powerful.

e-Jyn, Ackbar

Jyn is arguably the best Mill hero and with Ackbar's (another one of the best) focuses, will be able to get damage and mill action aplenty. Coupled with Ackbar's ability and Lothal Command Center and Outpost, these two look like they'll be the best to me.

On top of this we haven't even seen all of the new hero's, so there may be some even better combinations. What do y'all think?

I think the other 150ish unspoiled cards from HoR will have a huge impact on the the Meta. I would expect all decks and strategies to become more consistent with the influx of more card choices. I'm sure hero mill will get some new tools. But it is way too early to tell what will work and what won't.

Agreed. Let's wait until we see what's spoiled.

Good read on Jyn, we'll have to see what other options come in to play to help Mill.

I don't think Jyn will be used for a full mill win condition. Instead I see her discard sides as a way to disrupt your opponent, and maybe trigger Ackbar along the way. But it is an interesting idea, and I look forward to seeing if I am right or wrong.

What about e/Ackbar e/Padme? That's what I am running.

I have found it to be too weak. It can barely kill anyone and has lost every game I've seen it played in. Kudos to you if you're having success with it though.

I do really like currently eAckbar/Hired Gun x2. It is more focused on making money, but the mill really goes well with it (double scout). It isn't so much a mill deck, as much as a deck that you use mill to do damage with Ackbar's ability.

I don't think Jyn having discard faces will suddenly make Hero Mill viable, at least not with Ackbar. Hero Yellow/Red doesn't have anything like the control that villain mill runs. The deck may still be viable, but not as a dedicated mill deck - I'd see it being more of a aggro-control 'hand bomb' kind of thing, using Commando Raid and other discard options to wipe out turns, rather than actually intending to win via mill. Though I'm still not sold on Jyn having the damage potential to make it worthwhile.

Well I'm assuming that new Yellow and Red cards will come out to complement the deck in the new set.

eJyn-Padme is also a good combination. However, I'm afraid that hero mono yellow is not let viable.

Since all SoR characters have been spoiled, it's time to bring this discussion back. I'm holding firm that eJyn, Ackbar will be the best, most viable option.

It may not be tier 1, but ePadme/Padawan/Padawan already works in AWK. Padawan are great recipients for Thermal Dets, have focus sides and can bring down a weaker foe in a tight comp. Good match-up against eJabba/eDooku and can handle moderate offense.

Even better, SoR brings some specific tools to make this deck better, like Lone Operative. Excited to see the future of this deck.

Ackbar and Ventress would actually..... oh yeah. Nope, still a villain strategy.

I think eRey/Ackbar/Maz is a better choice for hero mill win condition. That's just me, though.
