CC Objectives Make Dictors Viable?

By jekara, in Star Wars: Armada

Motti's Dictors

Faction: Galactic Empire
Points: 397/400

Commander: Admiral Motti

Assault Objective: Station Assault
Defense Objective: Contested Outpost
Navigation Objective: Salvage Run

Interdictor-class Suppression Refit (90 points)
- Wulff Yularen ( 7 points)
- Grav Shift Reroute ( 2 points)
- G7-X Grav Well Projector ( 2 points)
= 101 total ship cost

[ flagship ] Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer (120 points)
- Admiral Motti ( 24 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)
= 158 total ship cost

Gladiator I-Class Star Destroyer (56 points)
- Demolisher ( 10 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)
= 75 total ship cost

1 "Mauler" Mithel ( 15 points)
1 "Howlrunner" ( 16 points)
4 TIE Fighter Squadrons ( 32 points)

Station Assault and Contested Outpost force the opponent to come take the stations or lose out on points via Grab Shift Reroute (move the stations closer to you and away from your opponent).

Salvage Run allows the Interdictor to force enemy ships at speed 0 right in front of the objective tokens deployment area via G7 grav well experimental upgrade. Meanwhile you can move all the obstacles around the station with Grav Shift Reroute (asteroids/debris fields in the path of enemy ships, station closer to you... dust clouds to the sides vs broadside ships, to the front vs front shot ships).

Has anyone tried anything like this with these new objectives?

I have had some success with this list.

Faction: Galactic Empire
Points: 396/400

Commander: Moff Jerjerrod

Assault Objective: Station Assault
Defense Objective: Contested Outpost
Navigation Objective: Sensor Net

[ flagship ] Interdictor-class Suppression Refit (90 points)
- Moff Jerjerrod ( 23 points)
- Interdictor ( 3 points)
- Minister Tua ( 2 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)
- Targeting Scrambler ( 5 points)
- Grav Shift Reroute ( 2 points)
= 132 total ship cost

Victory I-Class Star Destroyer (73 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Dual Turbolaser Turrets ( 5 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)
= 87 total ship cost

Victory I-Class Star Destroyer (73 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Dual Turbolaser Turrets ( 5 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)
= 87 total ship cost

2 TIE Fighter Squadrons ( 16 points)
2 Lamda-class Shuttles ( 30 points)
4 TIE Interceptor Squadrons ( 44 points)

You have a lot of objective/board manipulation, and it's really fun I'm not sure how viable it is in competitive play, but it sure was fun in my playtest game. Probably one of the coolist things to do with this list is to go first and totally take control of your opponents objectives.

Oooo. I like this. I'd probably swap the interceptors and ties for Ciena Ree, Valen Rudor and Dengar which saves you ten points, and then covert both victory's in Victory 2's, with gunnery teams, and leading shots if there is still the space. Or something similar. But I really like that set up actually, the lamda's are a stroke of genius

With those shuttles, you might consider Fire Lanes instead of Contested Outpost.

Pull those tokens in to your fleet and claim 3x 15 points per turn!

Yup, now that sounds like a wave 5 infused list! I shall steal that!

Got this list going and I think it can really put your opponent on the back foot fast

Ive only tried Interdictor a couple of times but last time i played it with station assault i was able to move 5 pieces of terrain including the stations. Which is fun.

The battle was basically a draw, both of our fleets killed about 280 points of stuff, but the stations were untouched so i won with the extra 80 points. It was fun, look forward to trying it out again.

Also will probably steal that list above. :P

Did you start the first round of the CC campaign with this list or is this how it looks in round two?

I ask because you cant have more than one upgrade per ship in the first round, and it looks like a first round list to me, due to the point limit of 400 pts

Of cause, forgot the bit about the 12 new CC missions also can be used in Tourneys, my mistake. -_-

No biggie. It's a fair question.

How much better is it in CC?

Like night and day, man. Those extra 100 points and tactical options make it worth it.
