Intel Officers are so mean!

By NeonKnight, in Star Wars: Armada

So, played a match of CC against my son today. Did the Show of Force as my Turn 2 attack, with a fleet that consisted of:

ISD II with Intel Officers

Gladiator II with Expanded Launchers and Intel Officers

Arquitens II with Enhanced Armament and, you guessed it....Intel Officers

I felt so...dirty, concentrating firepower on his ships, declaring...OK, I accuracy target your Redirect, and use my Intel Officer to target your Brace, and I do 6 damage.

So dirty.....so dirty

What Hawkwing said.

Dude. You don't just intel your son.

Jesus, intel parenting makes me mad.

But I HAVE too...He has annoying Cards, like Dodona's Pride and Overload Pulse!

on two different corvettes!

Intel officer is my favorite upgrade to take and the one I hate seeing most across from me...

I should be outraged! Instead I'm thinking: "I've never thought of using Intel Officers. Perhaps I will"

It is just sooo nasty.

Intel officers Target's Scatter on a flotilla...So, you can take the damage, or use the Defense token and....lose the defense token.

I think it may be part of the answer to taking on Mothma. You need to strip those evade tokens ASAP!

I like to pair Intel Officer with Nk-7 Ion cannon. On a good attack, I can burn two defence tokens.

Expensive as all get out, but packs a wallop.

The school of hard knocks's headmaster is an Intel officer.

Now take your son to a comp with this schooling and double your odds of getting some fat loot when he beats people.

I love it when an Intel officer is on a "kind of big" attack. 3 or 4 points of damage causes the most sweat. "Am I going to lose all my shields, or am I really going to burn a token for that?" I REALLY like having the IO available on a double-arc. "Do I use the token now? What if the next roll hits harder???"

Delicious.

Oh yeah, I know, if I can I make my low attack first see how much damage I do, if it's a good roll I declare it then, and then make the Big roll.

Even more delicious when the target has dual Redirects or Dual Brace. OK, You have one Brace unexhausted, and one exhausted. IO will target the unexhausted Brace. You just know your opponent is grinding teeth because now they can:

Brace for Half damage and lose a token.

or

Brace for half damage and lose a token.

MS-1 Ion cannons are a cheap counter to the IO. May be worth getting as leading shots is no longer essential for those big ships (OE and DTTs provide some reliability).

Is it just me or is all the OP stuff in Armada has the word intel on it?

Can't wait for intel specialists.

Wanna know what really sucks though? Sato scout frigates with IOs. Intelling from long range on doozies. Then following up with double arced 4-6 black dice from close range. And IO No need for accuracies at that point. Just buckets for collecting your opponent's tears. And that is as dirty as it gets.

Oh man! I understand the anti squadron armament of defenders and decimators more and more.
