I posted this before on the Geek, so I thought I'll give it a whirl here.
My wife and I came up with a campaign for Arkham, trying to take one team through to the end, as we tried many times unsuccessfully with Summer League 1.
So far we past the halfway mark with it and it seems to work well. No doubt there will be things that need to be tweaked, so I would be interested in feedback, ideas and constructive criticism.
Here are the rules as of today:
1) AH + DH Yig
2) AH + DH Glaaki
3) AH + KH Ithaqua
4) AH + KH Yibb-Tstll
5) AH + IH Shub-Niggurath
6) AH + IH Cthugha
7) AH + DH + KH Yog-Sothoth
8) AH + DH + IH Nyogtha
9) AH + KH + IH Cthulhu
10) AH + DH + KH +IH Azathoth
Set Up:
-As usual, but add all Allies of expansions used to the game
Items:
-All items that get discarded during the game go to the box and stay in the box for the remainder of the campaign
-Items that don't get purchased during a shop visit go back to the bottom of the deck
Allies:
-All Allies that get discarded during the game go to the box and stay in the box for the remainder of the campaign
Monsters:
-All Monsters that go into the box when defeated stay in the box for the remainder of the campaign
Trophies:
-All Moster and Gate Trophies, spent or unspent, are returned to the game when the game finishes
Other World Encounters:
-During the entire campaign the OWE Deck only gets shuffled when "The Stars are Right" card is drawn
Mythos Cards:
-During the entire campaign the Mythos Deck only gets shuffled when "The Story Continues..." card is drawn
Exception: When adding new expansions (see further down)
Rumors:
-Passed Rumors go to the box and stay in the box for the remainder of the campaign
-Failed Rumors go back to the Mythos discard pile
-Negative effects of failed Rumors will end when the game finishes
Finishing a Game:
-If the game is won by sealing or closing gates the investigators will receive $5 from the town of Arkham
-If the game is won in Final Battle $2
-Investigators get a total of 2 points of Sanity/Stamina split up however they choose
-Active Mythos and Rumor Cards at the end of the game go onto the discard pile
Continuing the Campaign:
-Set Up as usual
BUT
:
-Investigators start the next game at the location where they finished the last game (after Final Battle start at your home location, Train Station if board has been removed)
-Investigators do not receive their starting equipment
-Terror Level is reset to Zero
-Investigators carry over all their Items, Skills, Allies, Clues, Money, Blessings, Retainers, Memberships etc. for the remainder of the campaign
-Investigators carry over all their Curses, Injury/Madness Cards, Bank Loans etc. for the remainder of the campaign
-After the 5th game investigators receive a second skill from experience
Adding Another Expansion:
-Sort out all the Mythos Cards from removed expansions from discard pile and draw pile
-Add all the other relevant cards to the corresponding decks and reshuffle the decks, but not the discard piles
