Hey everyone,

i have literally only just opened up my core set of X-wing, and have tried to intro rules playing against myself.

can anyone help me out with a general run down of the gameplay?

ive not had a chance to play anyone else yet so im struggling.

ill be buying armada soon too so want to get my head around the general idea of it all before getting it.

The back of the Rules Reference has a breakdown of the game round. Keep that next to you and follow it verbatim until it becomes second nature.

Download the most recent FAQ. It has a timing chart for combat. Keep that next to your Rules Reference.

Do what the card says.

I can't help you with Armada. Try the Armada forums.

Watch some youtube videos - Team Covenant is a good place to start - and yeah, read the Learn to Play.

And head down to your friendly local gaming club, you'll surely find someone there willing to show you the ropes.

Trying to get an explanation down in text on a forum is probably not going to be the best way to learn.

As others have said.

But, Armada and X-Wing are not THAT similar in terms of how the game plays (but do have similarities). So get to grips with one first, and then the other.

Besides being Star Wars games about ships with upgrade cards i have seen none

T65s aren't the best ship in either game.

@JakePerth89 This should be your very first stop: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/x-wing/ and click the Tutorial button to watch FFG's intro to the game. It's fully explained in a step by step manner. Ideal for new players. Some of the other Youtube videos aren't as explanatory as this one.
