Blindness and Terror

Very excited. ^_^ I cant wait for this to come out. ^_^

this has to be one of the worst spoiled cards ive seen in a long time. maybe there is some neat trick to this card that will be in a set to make it worth it.

shub is already loaded with terror icons, so more often than not if youre using shub youre gonna win the terror struggle. but now instead of playing a 2 cost character with investigation or combat youre gonna load up on more terror?

on the flip side you could make an opponents character lose combat or investigation icons but by giving them somewhat of a terror boast. so now they are more capable of standing toe to toe against shub in terror. while there is plenty of 2 cost events just to wound a character and get them off the table rather than just neuter them.

mono shub doesnt have alot of character removal but this hardly seems worth the deck space. and in a mix faction deck you can easily find cards to wipe the pesky character away with combat or investigation.

but again this goes back to the old (character) attachment thing. most just arent worth it in coc.

Well, as a boost for your characters, it's sensless, because Tcho-Tcho Talisman does the same, and more, without the downside effect.

It's probably to be aimed at opponents', for some complex, misterious combo...

considering you can find some miska character that are willpower and have Huge stats that don't allow everyfaction to get ride of it, there'll be some interest to play it as a cursed attachment (like the pistol).

This card is situationnal and won't fit my own miska/shubb decks, but it can be a good answer if you consider that, actually, Shubb's faction only got the Slavering Gug to wound, use the Black goat rage (this card being useless in my mind) to drive insane ....

Then, shubb's good in support destruction, but you cannot say that it gets used to control the opponent's field. Except Y'Go being the biggest exception, Shubb's based on the Tide strategy and the load of icons. So this card can minor character's ability, which is not that bad.

I'd rather play Ghoul Taint ... Cost 1 and the effect is defitnetly usefull

An interesting thing about being blinded in this way - - the terror icons make it difficult, but your eyes will grow back if you figure out how to go insane !

As far as titles go, Whispers in the Dark has nothing on the Whisperer in Darkness for poetry. I like the AP pack cover image - almost a voice on the phone character. The flavor text along with the AP title hint at the Whisperer-in-Darkness-like context.

Yuggoth Contract was also spoiled.

Oh, there are beter cards for either use of Empty Sockets, but at least you have the flexibility to use either side as the situation sees fit.

And this another card was spoiled as well as Johnny Shoes said:

It's a bit vulnerable, since it's an attachment, but the risk of losing your investment of paying one and a card will start to pay itself back after the second activation. Throw some repeatable reanimation into the mix, and it's a monstrous draw engine...

Both spoiled cards are attachments. Hard to drum up too much excitement that way. These two cards look more an introduction to the next AP cycle. They accomplish that well. Nate reveals some of the new story.

Pearljamaholic is a smart tactician. Empty Sockets, even if played on an opposing card, hurts Shubs own terror.

Yuggoth on a spoiled card isn't a bad thing. Card draw for all. What would the LCG monster engine be? Not often do LCG and monster engine appear in the same sentence.

The collector icon is a moon orbiting Yuggoth, I think.

New Subtypes: Lunatics sounds great, HA. Serpents look awesome with some special ability, SH. Four students already are in the game, but not until this cycle the Student subtype, new blood for MU. Tactics seems an odd subtype, if I read that right.

man this set isnt thrilling me much.... card draw is awesome but pay 1 and sack a character seems alot to draw when gentles man club is around. attachments are far more venerable than location support cards too. pay 2 is easier to deal with cause pay 1 and sack is requiring two domains, characters dont usually play for free.

again have to wait for the packs to come out to see how the cards look with all the other new stuff, but as spoiled they look pretty useless.

Ofcourse, it digs deeper than the Club, and can be activated multiple times in a turn. It's easy to use it to get something extra out of the characters, like with Shadowed Woods, or with Encounter-type characters like shadowed woods.

For what it's worth, it seems to fill a similar role as MtG's Skullclamp. Which got banned at the time (but was in a block where your critters became free to play...)

Play the contracts with Hastur's faction or cards to take opponent's control. Remenber, you can only sacrifice Characters you control, so gain control of an opponent's character. Now, you are the controler and sacrifice it : for 1 you will eliminate an opponent's character and gain 2 cards...
