Grasp Your Fortune: A new adventure for Rogue Trader is announced

By FFG_Sam Stewart, in Rogue Trader

Hello Rogue Trader Fans,

I'm very pleased to announce a new sourcebook for Rogue Trader, Lure of the Expanse . This single book adventure trilogy takes the valiant Explorers from the disreputable port of Footfall, deep into the Heathen Stars, and finally to a lost world in the deepest reaches of space.

Good to see this finally announced! Can't wait until it's in stores! I really do want a copy of this.

And yes, I'm now allowed to say that I am indeed one of the lead playtesters of this product.... but no, I can't tell you what's in it yet lengua.gif You'll have to wait and see!

I was hoping for something different for next Rogue Trader suppliment, not because I don't like it but because I really want to tailor my Rogue Trader game to my players and so want to avoid pre writs as much as possible.

Ironically pre writs are what i'll end up with in abundance as there is the one in the book, the GM screen, the 3 in this suppliment, the preview adventure and the follow up to the preview adventure. Oh well you can't please everyone, im sure this will be great and i'll pick up a copy anyway, hopefully there is some good insights on how to design my own missions.

Any idea of timescale? When can we expect to see this in stores?

It's generally about a month or so between the announcement and it being in stores, I've found. Depends on how printing and transport go.

And you'll want to get it, it's good.

This was absolutely nailed on (as is an campaign arc, with the first release pretty quick) from a commercial point of view. It expands the franchise and maximises market penetration (thus profit). However, I'm reasonably pleased with this as it's a tried and true development with some (potentialy) interesting nuggets. I doubt it will be essential but it should help set the tone (and hopefully contain some priceless nuggets)and whet our appetites for more.

I am very happy with this announcement. Yes, I would other books as well but to be honest my biggest problem I have with RT is to get a good grasp of how endeavers translate into nice adventures. Plus, adventures are always nice to have.

Hmm, with this coming out might be time for me to pick it up. I know my biggest problem is the time to make up adventures and stuff, I really enjoy ready made stuff as it helps get right into the gaming when you have busy life with work, wife and kids.
